I was just thinking that Valentines’ season is a very shitty time for all of us broke people with significant others still waiting for callbacks. Then I realized, shit. I’ve fallen victim to idiotic mass consumerism AGAIN. As if Christmas wasn’t bad enough.

  1. I’m pretty sure this person isn’t breaking up with anyone and is commenting on how shitty it is that consumerism has permeated holidays, so what’s up with the boring tag?

  2. This is just another Hallmark holiday built on the foundation of guilt and should stop acting like a fucking mini-Christmas.

  3. What does “still waiting for callbacks” mean?
I think if your SO will be all brokenhearted if you don’t spend hundreds of dollars on them for V Day, they need to be kicked to the curb. Even $50 for roses is pretty pricey, unless you have a lot of disposable income. I think if you’re going to give a gift, creativity and fun should count more than $. After all it should be about showing the person how much you care, not about throwing money at them. And like I said above, if their criteria for showing you care is how much you spend, maybe you should rethink the relationship.
