If you have it accrued, then you are entitled to cash it out in the form of bonus pay – if you are unable to take it as time off. I.E. if you have a week banked and they won’t let you take it then you are entitled legally to be able to cash it out in the form of a weeks pay. Depending on where you work, I would take it up with higher powers.
Don’t let them bank up too much time on you… If you quit, they are only required by law to pay you X-amount… Years ago I worked in Ontario, had about 8 weeks unused leave… I was frequently denied the time off, or had to cancel vacations due to some supposed crisis etc…When I finally quit, they only had to pay me 3 weeks vacation by provincial emplyment law.. And that’s all they paid… Fuckers…!!!
