Once again an example of more concern for the criminal…and victim, well FUCK YOU!! The older I become the less tolerance I have for the accused once they “lawyer up”

What the fuck ever happened to accountability…integrity?

I truly hope there is a karmic force somewhere…because cowards like you deserve every bit of shit you have comin’ your way!

FUCK YOU asshole…lets hope thats prophetic!! —Really Jaded…

  1. Lever Stink? Henwick Crackintosh? That predator bastard cop in Saint John (Sorry Tim, they aren’t all good ones)
Details please. It’s not just prurience. Most people not connected with the so-called justice system are on the side of the victim but would like to know why.

  2. Could be talking bout the finkster and his lawyer on the merits of ” compassion fatigue” Ivan

  3. You know what, OB. Whether you like it or not, everyone has rights in this country. If you don’t like it, you are free to leave. We don’t base who has rights by public opinion nor do we take the investigating officers word as law. Its unfortunate for the victim sometimes but, that’s how it works. “Lawyering up” is pretty standard stuff, its part of your rights the police read you during your arrest. If we start deciding who gets rights and who doesn’t, the whole system falls apart.

  4. You might see things differently if you were ever accused of a crime you didn’t commit. I was arrested and threatened to have my animals taken to the SPCA because I was walking them through a parking lot that was being targeted by thieves. They told me that it would make a pretty good cover to be “walking my dogs”. I co-operated but refused to be arrested until they reviewed the camera evidence. That coupled with the fact that I had absolutely nothing in my pockets forced the police to let me go. I was shocked at how rude the police were to me. All it takes is being in the wrong place at the wrong time. I am glad I know my rights, and better yet, have them at all.

The thing that bugs me to this day was this statement, “you expect me to believe that you grew up in this area and don’t have a criminal record” and the fact that “any dealings with police” also includes parking tickets and speeding tickets. Seems to me that if you are in a certain area, you are automatically lumped in with the degenerates, not the hard working people who choose to live there. As long as police carry around that attitude, there is nothing more important than the RIGHT to “lawyer up”.

  5. John, I never said they were. If you look at my posts, I’ve said investigate and lay charges where warranted.

  6. I know that Tim. We defend our own in public, sometimes to excess, because there are those who take any legitimate criticism as a validation of their own blanket prejudice. eg. Clayton Matchee was a piece of shit; the overwhelming majority of the 900 men who served with him were not, yet…..

  7. I was also falsely accused of a crime I did not commit. The HRP detective involved in the case was more involved in closing the case then finding out the truth. Rather then him proving my guilt ( as is the standard in our society ) I had to prove my innocence at the cost of several thousand dollars. I offered to take a polygraph on several occasions and gave him all the information he did not have to solve the case. It has been three years and after repeated calls on my part he will still not tell me if I am a suspect or not. I have learned alot about police investigative techniques and all lead to them trying to “mind fuck” you into confessing to something you did not do so they can close the case expediently.

  8. Wow…this aint the most astute crowd on the inter-web!
Anyhow…heres hoping for a Kharmic Beat-down to all woman abusing fucks out there!!

  9. this one is astute enough to realize that blue-sky wishin’ and hopin’ and prayin’ for some avenging force named karma chameleon to magically appear and get all the bad guys for us is NOT going to happen. all you are doing by banging your fist on the table and hoping for karma is venting your own anger. fine. but expecting this to happen is like spending all your rent money because you’ll win the lottery tonight.

if you want to change something, do something. your very own self.

  10. Invoking “karma” like some cosmically attuned 9 year old doesn’t exactly put you in the ranks of Mensa, either Sport. In case you haven’t been following current events there are rather a lot of outrageous examples miscarriage of justice and the rights of the accused trumping those of the victims, so a little more specificity might have been helpful

  11. Scooter – we tossed his ass off the riverboat and drowned him good.
    Don’t mess with Texas, er…um…Louisiana

  12. I pretty much figured using the word astute would cause some to get their self-righteous knickers in a knot!!

And I invoke kharma because if were to actually threaten physical harm to someone Im pretty sure it would be against some sort of posting decorum if not a law.
    Peace
    Really Jaded …

  13. so how does one invoke karma? do ya burn incense? kill a frog? stand on your head and shake your chakras?

does ‘karma’ ooze up when invoked? or poof! appear like a rabbit out of your knickers?

very sad about Clancy. my favourite old dudes seem to be co-authoring lately. cussler, king. if king dies before me I am rending my clothes and cutting my scalp.

  14. re-reading seems like a non sequitur… not that Clancy was co-authoring recently. not that I noticed anyway. was he?

  15. Look i agree that innocent till proven guilty is a necessary climate for canadian law.

But I DO NOT like the idea that a victim is a liar till proven right. Victims have been through enough. Many are children and are treated with suspicion which is confusing to a child that has been hurt or violated.

I also don’t like the idea of inadmissibility. Someone said something without being on the stand but it PROVES the person is guilty? Inadmissible! Someone makes an obscene hand gesture or is the perpetrator’s wife/doctor/priest? Inadmissible! I’m hedging my bets on those details a little because I don’t know the finer details of criminal law. But you have to admit, inadmissibility is usually a random bullshit collection of circumstances that are put in place to ignore vital evidence. This not only harms victims, it can also harm an innocent person accused of a crime too.

Come on. NOTHING should be inadmissible when trying to get a psycho off the street unless it appears to have been doctored or manipulated.

Nobody is asking for the resurgence of the lynch mob. We’re just asking for the focus to be on the safety and health of victims and not criminals.

  16. GDM – Yup. His last 4 novels all have co-writer credits. That doesn’t include all the mass market stuff pumped out over the years under the name “Tom Clancy’s Whatever Whatever…”
Us Fanboys (and girls) will always have Red October and the faint hope that some ambitious director might try to bring “Red Storm Rising” to the big screen.

    Helpful hint for wannabe auteurs:
    1)Watch World War Z.
    2)Don’t do that.

  17. piffle ivan, that scene where the idiots are all happily singing & chanting as the sprinting zombies race up the wall to eat them, driven mad by the singing is one I will watch over and over.

and those buggers were FAST! what a great concept. completely knocked my whole zombie survival plan for a loop. I will die. probably one of the first.

  18. I’m surprised at the law enforcement toleration on this thread.

Maybe a ten second video clip would make the world of difference?

  19. Ivan, my condolences for the demise of your profitable career as a Tom Clancy doppelganger. You might, however, have one last kick at the can playing his ghost on Halloween.

  20. Thanks , dollin’. If, as seems increasingly likely, I wind up being booted from the Gulag for incorrigible crankiness, I fully intend to attach a suitable picture of myself to my resume with the caption:
“Will impersonate Tom Clancy for food”

  21. Greatbatshit,

Inadmissability isn’t always how it’s described on the tv. Without it we would have to worry about police or vigilantes potentially beating confessions out of people who are only suspected of crimes.

  22. GBS, inadmissible evidence is usually something that amounts to hearsay or evidence that was compromised by the police not doing their due diligence when collecting it. IMO, if the police can’t do their job properly within the guidelines set out for them, can you really blame the system for poor police work?

  23. When the hell will the stupid fucks learn that karma is NOT a sentient being!??! You reading this OB?:

“I truly hope there is a karmic force somewhere…because cowards like you deserve every bit of shit you have comin’ your way!”

There are Hindu and Buddhist beliefs in something called karma however it does not function like many people think. Karma is not going to bite you on your sorry ass just because you did something nasty. It won’t. It can’t!

I believe it exists as energy… that is, if you put some negative energy out into the world/universe it will add to what’s already out there. It will seethe. It will fester AND the chances of that same negative energy finding it’s way back to you are very slim to none. There have also been discussions in the belief that karma will affect you after reincarnation.

Now if you are reincarnated and are shit upon by some force people commonly refer to as karma, the chances are that it’s the same negative energy you put out in your previous life are extremely slim to none.

The more negative energy the more chances of you getting struck by it. Just my humble theological opinion.

FUCK, where the hell did that all come from?? I think I’ll take my Karma for a walk. Wait. I can’t ’cause it ain’t a sentient being! I need more karma, I mean koffee, I mean coffee.

  24. i made up this arbitrary rule, that, if anyone used that word i would post picture(s) of dogs

  25. karmakarmakarmakarmakarmakarmakarmakarmakarmakarmakarmakarmakarmakarmakarmakarmakarmakarmakarmakarma.

    More hounds now please.

  26. If the k-word doesn’t exists then what word can we use to take its place on the board. Everyone uses it wrong. Even I don’t know exactly what it is. Karma – I thought it was being responsible for your own happiness? Positive energy brings positive things? Kinda like “the secret”. F-u I never read it. Just the concept is basic karma? Yes? No?
I love when an OB drops the k word and the original bitch means nothing because it pisses every off.

  27. SirMeow. I don’t disagree with what you’re saying ACADEMICALLY (as in.. in a perfect world with no street smarts whatsoever). But sadly i’m not talking about the TV. When someone talks the way I talk, it’s a bad idea to assume that I get my information from television. A man who did something terrible was let off on a technicality. Which happened to be inadmissible evidence. He confessed to someone and because of their relationship, this person was not legally required to discuss it.

Nobody gave a shit about the person who had actually been hurt. Except to warn her and HER FUCKING FAMILY that vigilante revenge would be harshly dealt with.

You tell me how that’s fair. Please. I want to hear all the weak strawman arguments about how… somehow… it makes sense for everything to get turned on its head.

  28. I tell you… He should live looking over his shoulder. Because there are clearly technicalities that protect aggressors. I’m not talking about myself. I’m not capable of harming someone physically. But a lot of people i know are perfectly capable.

And we are VERY familiar with these technicalities.

  29. I’m not saying the safety and security of the accused should not be a concern. It absolutely should be.

I’m saying that it should not be the FIRST concern.

Someone was harmed. Is there nobody to protect that person? I realize it’s super-cool to root for the underdog. I used to root for the underdog because i cared about what other “very socially conscious” people thought of me.

Maybe it helps to say that, TRUST ME, the victim is the biggest underdog.

  30. We’ll replace “Karma” with the “red-breasted nuthatch” people will be inclined to use it less as it takes too long to type.

The justice system is officially broken, it’s missing the J.

  31. I’m shocked that Bro Tim isn’t defending the Saint John cop by saying that the 260 cases were all made up or are cases of buyer’s remorse. Oh, maybe the children provoked the officer by dressing like sluts and asking for it.
