Can anyone tell me what ever happened to the upgrade that Spring Garden and/or Quinpool Rd. was supposed to get this year? Instead, all I see is a shotty patch job that Quinpool Rd. got. What happens to all these approved projects by council that never seem to happen.

There’s a disagreement between city staff and the Spring Garden merchants’ association on what’s the best plan, but that’s supposed to be resolved by next year. Quinpool merchants appear to be fully supportive of the city proposal, and that’ll be ready to move forward next year as well.
But, there’s no money, so neither plan will actually materialize any time soon.
Gee, it didn’t seem too hard to give away a half a million bucks to help the bank accounts of big act promotions for a multi-million dollar concert deal to showcase a billionaire!
I guess the busiest street in the province couldn’t benefit from a half million buck spruce-up.
What’s the fun in that anyway.

yeah, there’s only “stimulus” money for librarians, ferry workers and hockey players… the really important, thriving, job-making industries, you know?
Widening SGR sidewalks just makes more room for the bums

I went for my daily walk which takes me on SGR and there’s a new bum outside Shoppers, this one is on a power scooter shaking a Tims cup in one hand while the other hand has a ciggy.
We could have an annual competition with prizes for most original pitch for free money, first prize would be shredding all mcgayles form w5’s

My bf came across a bum one day with a sign that said “kick a punk, one dollar”
Smee and macshaft – mcgayle is a regular poster, she is a defender of every sick, lame and lazy nitwit in the HRM, she also is not a big fan of the police or childrens services – her posts tend to pontificate. She’s reported just about anyone to anyone and uses the mysterious form 5’s.
