Is it just me or does anyone else find it a little weird that they’re having a festival atmosphere for the 100 year anniversary of the Titanic tragedy? In 100 years is New York going to have a festival with bands to commemorate the 2001 September 11 attacks? Seems a little disrespectful to the dead to me. Money grab? Me thinks so. —Rubs Wrong Way

So NYC is going to celebrate the 110 year anniversary? That seems silly! Must have meant in 90 years… I have to agree with the OP that it seems odd to have a festival for such tragedies. A vigil I could understand.

it was a big thing o.p., back in the day. and as such, needs a celebration, to mark that, and to help any alive, find solace in the fact that so many remember or care. all it is, is a gathering of people, who took or take an interest in such a terrible loss, such as any war tha has gone on before us.
