I cannot believe the instructor allowed this. It is ridiculously rude to the other students who are paying a lot of money to learn and it should be written policy at the school – no children in classes. No offence to the girl who is trying to make something of herself, but if there was no possible way to find a sitter or afford one, stay home. Maybe waiting another year to attend school and see if personal circumstances change would’ve been a better decision, to avoid missing classes.
Squawking sprogs have no place in a classroom. Not unless they’ve been fed a half bottle of Nyquil.
Couldn’t have been much worse than the legions of hungover/still-drunk/just-plain-obnoxious 19-year-olds I remember having to put up with during my undergrad years. Cut mom some slack, she’s paying to be there, too.
I am sure it was frustrating having to listen to a baby make some noise for an hour. I can guarantee that while you felt some annoyance the mother felt fifty times more uncomfortable about the whole situation. You were distracted for an hour! Mom has that ‘distration’ 24/7. Congrats to her for managing both, most of the time.
First of all, for you guys that are complaining about mommy coming to class with baby, what are you doing in class? Your undergrads…shouldn’t you be back at res, smoking lose joints and playing xbox…your at university for fuck sakes. Secondely, give student mommy a break, she’s trying to make it work. Besides, it gives you guys some action in the class as opposed to listening to some crusty prof spew on for 2 fucking hours…
Hey Jasen, I don’t know what kind of slacker university you went to, but in mine we actually want to learn. Student mommy’s not making it work too well, she should shell out for daycare or stay the hell home and be a responsible parent.
Sh,Maybe student mommy can’t fork out the 7-800 hundred a month to put baby in daycare. Look, my point is, with all the important bullshit that goes on in the world today, can’t a few uptight students look past the fact that there’s a baby in the class. If they can’t, then maybe they should spark up and mellow out….oh and don’t worry Sh, they should still go to class….they wouldn’t want to become slackers…
