  1. If you don’t like unions, move to Bangladesh and work for $1 a day. As for the children, don’t use them as an excuse for your ridiculous hatred of unions and worker rights. No children will be denied care that is necessary. Take your stupid head out of your stupid asshole and get a clue about the way the real world works, its corporations and governments that are the real threat to workers and their children, not unions.

  2. Unions are fucking useless. When I had a grievance, I discovered my union rep and the corporation rep were good drinking buddies. I got fucked over reeeeealllll good by those two bozos. I pay over $600 a year for nothing but a goddamn newsletter with JJ’s smiling $120,000 a year mug shaking hands with her cunty henchpeople.

  3. I think JJ makes around $200,000 – and I think they are useless also – they did nothing for me when I had a bad boss! All they told me that he could not change my job title! Big deal! They did nothing to really deal with the problem but they gladly took my money every paycheque.

  4. Please don’t tell me that fucking bitch makes that much money. I want to spit on my television whenever I see her fat mug on the news. My co-workers and I would love to be non-unionized rather than pay dues to a bunch of useless tits. Our last contract wasn’t settled until three years after the deadline – my sector is treated like shit stains on their fat collective arses compared to how quickly the nurses and teachers contracts were settled. I resent every penny I pay them.

  5. Ellbee shows what an idiot he is everytime he gets near his keyboard. You clearly have no idea what the issues are at the IWK and just want to rant. Fairly typical of someone who lacks the guts to stand up for themselves let alone for anyone else. So you once had a grievance that didn’t go your way….boo hoo. I guess that means all workers should now be oppressed and not be able to bargain to better their lot in life.Thankfully the workers at IWK not only care deeply for their patients they also care about each other and are willing to stand up for their rights. Also Ellbee, if you have such a dislike for JJ why not have the courage to run for her position. Since you know everthing about this sort of thing you would be simply dazzling in her role I’m sure.I’m glad the IWK staff are standing up for what’s fair. Regardless of the outcome they are all much braver and more dignified than a whiner like yourself. If you really hate unions that much why not quit your terrible unionized position and go work for somebody that will really treat you well……like Wal-Mart….just think of what you can do with all that dues money you save!

  6. Caring for the patients but also “standing up” for one another. Char4 is you that obviously doesnt understand the complexities behind this issue. As tax payers we provide a substantial amount of revenue to health care in NS and it all goes in the pockets of unionized staff. Did you know that 85% goes in that direction? What about health status and outcomes that will actually benefit the population? Nope, JJ wants everything “fair” as long as unionized staff get the works. Did you also know that those staff that voted to strike are among the highest paid in the country with among the best benefits? A ruling a couple of years ago, by an arbitrator, stated that staff at the QE2 should be the highest paid in the Atlantic region because they are the largest. If you dont like what the IWK has to offer, apply at the QE2! Those staff earn much more than the average Nova Scotian already and are generously compensated for what they do. Give our health a chance for once JJ and lets some funds flow into health outcomes and not your pockets.

  7. I am in management at the QE2. Take it from me the JJ and the NSGEU are the worst bunch of crooks you could ever meet. They lie, cheat and steal what they can. The only seem to represent the bad workers never having to deal with the good ones. Some going twenty years without a boo. We try to do whats right for the staff on a daily basis always keeping the patients in mind. If you union people were smart you would tell the whole crew in the NSGEU to hit the road. At the end of the day its all grandstanding. They have no more interest in the patient care than the “man on the moon”. God forgive the whole bunch of you. IWK staff please dont forget your responsibility to the people that pay our salaries.

  8. Thanks, Nice and John – you said it so much better than I did. I’ve seen workers devastated by the NSGEU’s indifference and lack of support. When I had a grievence over a verbally abusive boss, those union goons basically told me to put up and shut up. That was certainly worth paying $600 a year for. The only resolution I had to my situation was the eventual retirement of that abusive, tirading fucktard.Oh, and as for you, Chad4, go grow yourself a fucking brain.

  9. Quote:…”The amount of time I spend here daily would be equivilant to a half a coffee break (7.5 minutes)”…EllbeeWow, from what I’ve seen just in this topic so far (and the number of replies you’ve made) either you type very fast to only be here for 7.5 minutes a day, or you lie through your teeth, and you spend all fucking day here! Now who’s the fucktard???

  10. From what I hear, the people on the front lines at the IWK get paid far to little and the people in upper management get paid far too much.Let’s pare down the bureaucracy in public health and give the people who deserve it — the people who give hands-on care to the sick and injured — what they deserve.

  11. It sounds like the strikers just want equity with their buddies at the QEII. It seems to me that if you’re doing the same job, you should be paid the same rate. Some of you posters seem to have some real anger issues. I thought this was a bitch board, not a rant and rave and foam at the mouth board.Peace out.
