To the bastard who stole my umbrella on the ferry this morning. I forgot it for a minute. When I realized and raced back it was gone. What?! You couldn’t have given to to the terminal personnal? I hope karma shoves that umbrella up your ass and opens it!!! Again, bastard!

Oh I hope it wasn’t the one sitting on the ground by the seats that face the doors…I saw one there this morning (longer type and blue), you know the seats with the support pole next to them? Thought about bringing it up to the desk but I was already by the doors and there was a crush of people getting ready for the “Race up the ramp”.Sorry I didn’t go back for it! Now I feel bad, I should have just walked over and picked it up dammit!
It’s not STEALING when you leave it behind, so be mad at yourself, asshole.
The OP left it behind FOR A MINUTE and when he/she went back to get it, it was gone, so yeah, someone took something that wasnt theirs… in my opinion, they stole it, otherwise, they would have tuned it in…
Yeah, they LEFT it, the operative word. Doesn’t matter about the time elapsed from LEAVING to realization that they LEFT it behind. Get real.
Yes its stealing when you take something that obviously doesn’t belong to you. So Vicky, would say the same if you left your purse or other valuable at a restaurant or some other place by accident and came back to discover that someone took it and when it was found later all the money was missing. The logic you use would mean the person had every right to spend your cash.
Cat lady….. here is a question…. you said , “The OP left it behind FOR A MINUTE”if the person that has it, walks upon it, how are they to know how long it had been sitting there? There is no way to tell. In that case, it could have been there a while. However, being a ferry, the only possibilities really are it was someone on the trip going the direction they were …….or someone on the previous trip.I think the “finders/keepers” rule is sooooooo grey.
“It’s not STEALING when you leave it behind, so be mad at yourself, asshole.”Vicky, you’re the only one coming off as the asshole here. What, you’ve never left anything behind by accident? Fuck, you must be perfect. I hope someone steals YOUR umbrella during monsoon season. See who the asshole is then.
devil’s advocate…What if someone found it, took it and was on their way to turn it in and the two of you crossed paths in such a busy place as the ferry terminal? personnally, I would feel really bad speaking of someone so badly only to find out that they were doing the right thing. maybe the OP should check at the staff desk again to make sure? you never know, right?
I pay attention to my stuff, poop, so no, I don’t leave anything behind. I’m not saying I’m perfect in any way, but if you leave it, you stand a good chance of losing it, period. Ex-hali, if I were stupid enough to leave my purse anywhere with cash in it, I would not expect it to be intact if I got it back. That would be my own fault for leaving it in the first place. Who the fuck carries cash these days anyway? Get real, assholes.
Yeah, i pay attention to my things too, but shit happens. Calling the OP an asshole for leaving something behind by ACCIDENT is just plain bitchy, and you sound like a supreme douche right now. I carry cash sometimes, does that make me an asshole?
Some people gotta carry cash, at least until hookers and drug dealers start taking debit or credit. Come to think of it….if we got rid of cash, what would drug dealers and hookers take in exchange for goods and services….would you have to barter with them?
And since the banks charge you $1.50 here and $3.00 there for using your debit it just makes sense to carry cash the banks don’t get all your money. Before you know you’ve be spent $7.00 in transaction fees.
If you are getting dinged like that for debit transactions, you gotta switch banks. Nobody shoudl be paying for debit these days.
Free debit? There’s a such thing? Which bank are you with Miles? I’m with Royal Pain in the Ass and they’re just con-artists.
Yeah, that doesn’t surprise me. That’s the bank I switched from because I was wasting so much money on transactions. I think there might be a few other major banks banks that offer much better debit deals for a lot less a month. Look into ING Direct or PC financial or some credit unions, they typically offer no fee bank accounts. Shop around a bit online, there are lots of options.
I’m with Miles on this one… Don’t give those banks a dime more than you have to… PC bnk = no fees & uses CIBC ATM system… Also never use another bank’s ATM to get cash unless its an emergency… $1.50 to $2.00 here and there adds up to one big rip off… I worked for banks in a previous lifetime… and believe me when I say your bank is not your buddy…And OP, I think Vicky has your umbrella, and she has it hidden up her ass…
PC Financial automatically puts a 7 BUSINESS day hold on any funds you deposit into the account( aside from EFT’s). When opening any bank account there is either legal disclosures they read you(if opening over the phone) or you sign the papers that outline perfectly well the fee structure.Free banking…not a chance..but doing your banking as cheaply as possible is very doable.
Homie, my point being, if the umbrella sat there for 2 minutes, or 2 hours.. Doesnt make it any less mine, right?I’m not the type of person who would take something that wasnt mine.. and I would HOPE TO HELL, if I left my wallett, or my umbrella behind, I would HOPE someone, like me, would find it, and turn it in..I know the odds of that happening are slim to NONE, but the thought is nice! And off topic, but Vicky, wernt you the laid back, friendly, mellow, pot smoker? (could be mixing you up with someone else)What happened?
and like what was asked cat lady…..how could the person that picked up the umbrella know how long it was sitting there? How do they know it wasnt from the previous trip accross the water? What if they picked it up and were looking for you in a busy terminal and missed you? What if you were walking back to get it, and they walked past you on the way to turn it in, and turned it into the incorrect person? What if the person that found it, turned it into the transit corporations lost and found? These are all viable options, They are all possible, However it seems as though OP has confirmed this was a theft. Strange considering the many other options here.
Yeah, I am the mellow stoner, cat lady, but this bitch just pissed me off. I wasn’t calling the OP an asshole for leaving said umbrella behind poop, I was calling him/her an asshole for their “nuclear” reaction to their own inattentiveness. Floyd, aren’t you the one who likes foreign objects placed in their ass? I’m just sayin’…
Vicky, how did you know that???…. OMG is that YOU??? The Vicky that does that thing??? How you doing???… How long has it been??? Sorry I didn’t recognize you without the mattress on your back.
HAHAHA Floyd!!! You made me blow espresso out of my nose!!! And I almost didn’t recognize you without your knee-pads on…Floyd 1 Vicky 1…next!
We’ll have to call it a draw for now Vicks… Unless you can top yourself on that last one…
I’ll take the point for the draw…until next time, Floyd…
