Shame on the live music scene in Halifax for failing to get a certain band with hometown boys a gig during their East Coast tour in February. The quartet, originally from Halifax, now reside in Toronto and still make a point to come home often.
If venues in the bustling metropolises of Liverpool, Truro, and Port Hawkesbury can host them on this tour, why couldn’t anywhere in Halifax? — CA

FAAAAAACCCCCKKKKK!
Yeah, Halifax. You “Money City Maniacs”. What gives? Out of “Everything You’ve Done Wrong”, this is most heinous. Seriously. “Who Taught You to Live Like That?”
“If it Feels Good Do it”
Aww crap, avast’s is way better.
This bitch makes me feel like I just ate my young.
*shrug* There could be any number of reasons why they didn’t come here that have nothing to do with “the live music scene in Halifax”.
perhaps the live music scene has died ~:o
Maybe this band (whoever it is) just plain sucks and some of these small towns will take any band to break up the tedium.
Every life music show I went to in Halifax they blasted the music so loud that you literally can’t hear anything, including the music. It just sounds like distortion.
I went to one gig and the stupid hipster bassist wanted to be the centre of attention so I guess he is allowed to just destroy the song by cranking it to 11.
Maybe that’s why the indie music scene is dying, because most of them are fucking idiots.
they did this show already for Halifax Pop Explosion in 2010, makes sense they’d skip Halifax
The music scene in Halifax is at an all time low. Take it from someone who is trying to gig around here.
Brent Randall and His Pinecones?
Fuck those Wankers!!!!! As long as the booked Matt Anderson, I’ll be happy.
Steve Who is Matt Anderson?I never heard of him.
Yeah, saw them at the 2010 pop explosion. they looked pretty bored about the whole thing so we aren’t missing much.
I’ve been listening to Matt Anderson.I like what I hear.
Thanks for mentioning him Steve. 🙂
I remember Matt (stubby fingers) from years ago up in the Perth Andover area where he used to play … my honey’s got family all up through there.
Hasn’t been the same since Tuesday night open mic in Marquee hell, and the Dean Malenkos broke up. I even heard one of them complaining back then that they weren’t happy hosting it, and the local scene hasn’t had the same caliber since.
We need the old Marquee back
Boru I would highly recommend Matt Anderson’s cover of “Wagon Wheel”.
I might get blasted here but I actually prefer it to the original.
KEL. Thanks I enjoyed that song to. Does he have a CD of his own music? 🙂
