  1. No, the reason we don’t get many large events in town is that Halifax doesn’t have the population base or the venues to support them. It simply isn’t financially viable most of the time.I’m also betting that you DON’T live in the area immediately around the Commons. I do. Having 60,000 or so people descend on my neighborhood for a massive outdoor show is not my idea of a good time. I don’t care about the show. I DO care about all the noise, crowds, possible vandalism, having limited access to my home, and all the other problems this concert will cause. Maybe we could hold the Stones show in your backyard instead? I don’t want it in mine.

  2. Simple maturity test – does the subject look at both sides of an issue before complaining/commenting?

  3. It’s plain to see – people like to bitch. Especially Haligonians. Hence this entire section of the local paper.

  4. Its the city people! Its gonna happen in “your backyard”. If you dont like it, move to the country. The price to pay for living on the pensuila.

  5. i went to the concert in moncton…that was in many peoples barkyards and it went off with out a hitch and afterwards many residents who had complained said it did not have the outcome they had expected and were pleasantly surprised…and i would certainly put mick and the boys in my backyard but it smells like piss and they might get shot at and they will not deliver pizza to us…so count your blessings
