Once again, a single accident on the MacKay bridge causes traffic mayhem for the taxpayers.
If the Halifax Harbour was an airport in any other city in this country, we would have a ring road capable of sustaining 100 km/h traffic.
There should be an infrastructure corridor that allows vehicles and utilities to circle the harbour. And, we would benefit as a whole by it providing a green belt for walkers, bicyclists, et cetera.
Instead we have traffic jam after traffic jam. —Where Are The Planners?

I agree, but I guess then they wouldn’t get as many loonies paying a loonie to cross…I’d go around it (if it made sense gas & time wise) When did you ever know politicians to allocate money for things that make sense? (or things that make our lives easier?)
you ain’t seen no traffic jams yett o.p., try a u.s. one. i just spent the last 5 fucking hours stuck in one massive fucking sweltering long line of no moving idling cars and trucks. yeah, i’m in the states now, have been since yesterday, and the traffic is fucking crazier than halisux could ever hope to see. n.y. is a massive logjam, baltimore, it is on the i95 that is really fucked.
i hope to be in richmond tomorrow night. and fayetteville in a couple of days.florida by sunday or monday evening. i don’t really wanna stop in georgia, because they got real bad news bears there. and i don’t want to be locked the fuck up for speeding thru any part of that state. them smokies be real gone crazy.anyway, tata, and hope you all melt in the heat up there.
OP, the hippies don’t want the traffic problems solved by sensible solutions. We are all supposed to live in apartments next to our jobs, and take the bus everywhere else.

…or maybe people could learn how to drive? It’s not a weekday without a minimum of one accident on the MacKay bridge.
