Why is it so difficult to get Tonic water?
Honestly, why is it that I have to travel to a fucking grocery store to get a bottle of Tonic water? Sure, it’s random enough to not expect it from a convenience store, but at least I should be able to get it from a pharmacy, right? Nope, I’ve gotta put my life in danger by approaching a grocery store on a bloody Sunday. I wish we had malaria in this bloody country.—Gin and Tonic-less

Because this is Canada…
So go to the grocery store on a weekday, waaah waah wah…
tequila and tonic is tastier, with lime of course
tonic water, water with ginger and airated. sure does make shit tastes like well, shit. that is the grossest fucking thing going. i would rather mix my drinks with dog piss. or take the stuff straight, like a MAN.
The harbour has a good supply of toxic water if that’s any help.
Wrong LS. It’s carbonated water with quinine added, which is what gives it the bitter taste.
the diet stuff is gross
I don’t get what is so difficult about going to a grocery store for tonic water. Seriously.
As a personal preference I NEVER add mix to booze. I drink it straight or not at all. Mmmmmm…tequila! Though cognac is my favourite, but only Remy M is worth the effort. I rarely drink but when I do it’s gotta be pure.
I have to admit . I went to the 7-11 near my corner and looked . I found tonic water in the cooler !!! Cans and 1 and 2 liter bottles. I really did want to see and wasted 5 minutes going to the 7 -11. What to do with a day off eh? Though back home i can’t recall if i ever saw any in the corner stores .
Your problem isn’t tonic, it’s gin. Gross.
Needs is open 24/7.
it’s hard to find tonic water because nobody wants it. i run a drug store in hrm and despite the fact that it was once mandatory to carry in our beverage planograms, it continuously outdated and we had to dump it (store brand) or return it for credit (national brands). so we stopped allocating it space on the shelf.
same reason people can’t find that particular product they’ve been buying their whole life. when it doesn’t sell enough, our suppliers stop sourcing it and we don’t get it anymore.
i am a retail coaster.
Sounds like that effete English drinkies G and T with ice and a slice, AKA pony-piss
gin and ginger is way better anyways.
nice and sweet with ginger ale.
dark and stormies but only with good ginger beer
for a hangover – redeye!!
I hate that tonic now has sugar in it. Once upon a long ago it was sugar free and decidedly more bitter. Yum. Now it is simply clear pop.
yes it has changed it’s chemical make-up…oh well there will always be beep, not
convenience stores rarely sell limes either- just sayin.
I wish I could preach the think ahead mentality but I found myself shuffling off to the corner store on a Sunday for some year old Clamato because I was wanting a Sunday Caesar. Why can’t our alcoholism just be EASY?
Probably for the same reason narcotics aren’t free.
Without being too specific, (God forbid!) I think we’re all a little ashamed at a certain local weekly news, culture and entertainment magazine that is about to break its promise of anonymity for its on-line community. At the first sign of a little pressure from a couple of “aggrieved” civil servants who have hired themselves a lawyer to send a “firm” letter, this supposedly “left” leaning rag is gonna not even fight for the privacy promised to its readers.
You know, we always think that a conscientious editor’s highest goal would be to have an effect on freedom of speech and privacy rights – we just didn’t think it would be a “negative” effect, that’s all.
Have fun rolling over and playing dead – “yassir, nossir, three-bags-full, sir!”
Someone needs to start a paper with some balls around here.
I guess we’ll all just have to stick to bus bitches, angry waitresses and the latest funny cat story, eh?
Sad, really.
i’m with you bmf, but i don’t want to wave any placards
OP – I like gin and mineral water. Try it out.
