Whew, where is Winter now, eh? It’s finally gone, and that means that since things are warming up in Nova Scotia, it means that the crime heat is rising as well. For example, this morning at the Burger King bus shelter at Tacoma Plaza in Westphal, Dartmouth around 11:19 am today (3-29-2009) a possible prostitution suspect showed up with a secondary suspect, a caucasian male with a slouched stature of 6’1”, and 160 lbs. The prostitution suspect, (who I am dubbing ‘suspect zero’) is an unidentified caucasian female approximately 113 lbs, petite stature with dyed blonde hair (long) and was dressed in black fishnet stockings, black heels (open toe) and black shirt with blue jean mini skirt.
From my experience with the police (not mentioning), this dress code fits the bill of a prositute (even walked like one). Suspect Zero had one brown ‘bug’eyed’ sunglasses, black purse and a gold chain. Suspect 2, the male was poorly shaven, dark haired and had one a rather heavy blue jacket and ball cap (pimp, or boyfriend, or fuck buddy?). Given that the two were walking to the bus shelter from behind BK, suggests to me that they are locals to the Westphal area, and probably students at the nearby Prince Andrew High School. The two engaged in sexual related acts in public view (of me) with remorse while waiting at the bus shelter for the route 10 Dalhousie bus (same as I was).
I was seated in the back, with the two suspects in full view of me 5 seats up from the front. They got off the bus at the Sportsplex Bus Terminal on Wyse Road, Dartmouth. (as mentioned in a previous blog, the Wyse Road area of Central Dartmouth is a hot spot for prostitution, as it Dartmouth North).
I am advising you, bloggers that if you know this person to stay away from both suspects, and to report sightings and any information to the Halifax Regional Police’s Vice Unit at 902-490-5333, the integrated major crime unit, or report a tip to www.cybertip.ca/ or through Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-tips. I will make sure the information if posted via blog response is sent anonymously to authorities. I will pass it along to HPD and Metro Newspaper.
As for Suspect Zero, if you happen to read this blog by accident via random search on google, know that your time as a free street walker is over. Your job won’t save you from the long reach of law enforcement. Your pimp and you better run to Switzerland or Mexico which have no international extradition regulations for international fugitives.
I will be watching you, slut!

Aye aye, Constable Do-right!
I can’t decide which is funnier, this bitch or “Dear A call me.”
A reminder, Dear A. call me:
http://www.thecoast.ca/LovetheWayWeBitch/a…
Your life must be boring as fuck if you resort to diligent note taking every time you see a woman wearing open toe shoes (Open toe shoes? Fucking slut!). Is it necessary to warn the general public about this oh so dangerous woman roaming the streets? Of course it is! Everyone knows prostitutes eat little children.
OP, you are a fucking psycho.
Do you really think that cops are going to patrol bitch boards, looking for people posting crimes they see? Just fucking report it to the HQ for christs sake.
Dear A. Call Me — good times. But it was different in that it was about seven times as long, and full of redundancies and idiosyncracies.
I can’t believe some people…thinking prostitution is a bad thing.
Just kidding, kinda. I myself would never be able to do it but…. If someone want’s to sell their body, and some guy or girl wants to buy it..not including situations involving married men/women ect. but really how does it effect you. It really is in a sense “Nunnya buisness”
What the hell? This is amazingly strange. Someone in a short skirt rode a bus! Yes, “the crime heat is rising”, definitely. I wonder what the cops would say to this OP if he/she actually called and told this story?
Also, I wonder what counts as “sexual related acts” in the eyes of this interesting character? Kissing? Hand-holding? Eye contact? And what could “Suspect Zero” possibly be googling that could lead her to this page? “BK bus shelter prostitution”?
Thanks for posting this, Tim.
The OP is either bored and fucking with us or a delirious sex-phobic ultra-conservative chauvinistic lunatic. I can’t even begin to describe how creepy this bitch is. This bitch embodies everything I hate about the anti-prostitution argument and represents the worst of the people who spew this bullshit. I don’t care how you phrase it, it all comes down to the sex negative culture, a product of decades of church and state not being separated. That’s the same bullshit that blessed us with the “intelligent design” bullshit and the anti-gay marriage bullshit. I’m sick of this bullshit!
fizz,
I have not posted in a couple of weeks, so I missed your arrival, but just for that last post of yours, I’m throwing out a huge ‘WELCOME!’ right now. Yes, our society is too repressed about all things sexual, and religion is hugely to blame.
Lust is entirely natural, but by religions making it seem unnatural (a ‘deadly sin’ in some factions, no less), they perpetuate an imaginary disease for which they can sell their farce of a cure: begging Sky Daddy for forgiveness.
1fallingangels1,
…on prostitution specifically…my sentiments, exactly. I see prostitution like I see eating any food I don’t care for. Me not being interested in it is far from reason enough to try to bar others from it.
Again we have religion to thank, for trying to tell us that our own bodies (and the world in general) do not belong to us because they were are created by someone (whose will religious leaders are deluded enough to imagine they know, or who just make for their own purposes).
Come to think of it, Sky Daddy is in the business of preventing sex/prostitution AND eating certain kinds of food!
How sad that otherwise intelligent people can believe this garbage. Snap out of it!
Your description of suspect Zero & suspect 2 matches half the population of the Palace Nightclub on any given weekend!
Oh seriously get a grip O.P
“around 11:19”?
“slouched stature of 6’1””?!
“approximately 113 lbs”?!!!!
“Get a grip” is right.
…and why does that kind of obsession seem like a perfect match for the kind of person who is up in arms about the same kinds of things a police “Vice Unit”?
This is the same douche who posted the Bush book bitch. Seems like one of your typical wannabe-a-cop morons, who like to patrol the streets with a notepad, pretending they are fighting crime. In reality, he’s just hoping he can one day report a real crime so the cops will pat him on the head and give him a ride-along or something.
Give it up, Nancy Drew. You’re not a cop and nobody wants to read your shitty blog.
OP,
if me0w is right and you’re just out to fight crime, try picking something real.
…or move to Saudi Arabia and try out for this sick little organization: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Committee_for…)
2nd try: “http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Committee_for…)”
OK…different link, since (why, Tim B?) this site is cutting off the ‘)’ on the end of the other one:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Committee_for…
Ironically, If prostitution were legal / regulated (similar to the Australian system) you wouldn’t have most of the problems which make it a good idea to be outlawed (to me the biggest being human trafficing/enslavement).
As long as you have people too ugly and/or with no game to get laid and/or just looking to have sex without the effort & maintenance of a relationship, the world’s oldest trade will continue to thrive.
Exactly murder junkie, prostitution is always going to be here. So what do we do? We can either shit ourselves and make life hell for them by forcing them to work on the streets all the while patting ourselves on the back for our outstanding moral fiber. Or we can get over our sexual hang-ups and give these people a safe place to work and maybe then half of them wont OD or get raped and murdered by people like the OP. Fuck this bitcher is creepy! I almost feel like the police should be aware of how creepy this bitch is.
What’s really funny is that the OP mentions that they will go to both HRMPD and the Metro newspaper. What, do they think that Metro will do a 5-page exposè on teen prostitution in Halifax? Ha!
I agree Fizz, it’s really, REALLY creepy! Forget the ‘suspects’, I’d call the police on the OP if I knew who he or she was!
OP, maybe the girl was a prostitute, maybe the guy was a john…..and maybe you’re a serial killer!
I hate power tripping, presumptuous, wanna-be-cops. Or worse! Power tripping, presumptuous, for-real-cops! *gag*
I say the OP is incredibly lonely despite the swollen ego big enough for two. I think he figured out how to live vicariously through strangers (bought some binoculars) then tried to validate his third-party-observer bullshit by posting here. Flame on, bitches! Flame on!
OP, 1-800-222-TIPS. Call it in. What’s that? No crime to report? FUCK OFF and mind your own business.
Hey OP, you forgot to mention how “Today’s Media [is] Sexualizing Young Women to Prostitution”. Pretty dark way up there in the depths of your ass, isn’t it?
Fizz: “delirious sex-phobic ultra-conservative chauvinistic lunatic.” I think you are probably bang on with that one.
No Dogma: Welcome back:) And as I do most times, I agree with everything you just said.
Murder Junkie, I also agree with what you said. By making it legal, there then becomes more room for regulation, and the so called “sketch bags” (ones that you really need to worry about) would either have to clean up a bit, or be out of work. And the guy’s that you need to worry about wouldn’t be able to get away with as many things as they can get away with “underground” prostitution.
*shudders* I’m kind of with Scooby doo on the potential serial killer creepiness that is in this bitch.
http://www.thecoast.ca/LovetheWayWeBitch/a…
Thinking with a young a rebellious mind that “knows everything” the obvious conclusion here is to legalize prostitution. Grow up a little, have some kids, think about them alone in this kind of world raising your grandchildren and then decide if formalizing pussy as a commodity is really in your best interests or those of your children. Think outside the box, bitches.
Kay – that’s why I mention the Aussie model. Down there brothels are zoned such that they’re out of neighborhoods and as a result streetwalkers are virtually out of sight.
Sorry junkie… out of sight and out of mind doesn’t change the principals behind my argument. Just imagine walking around with a commodity between your legs 24/7. No? Then imagine your daughter doing it. Prostitution is something people do when they have nothing left to loose. I say they do have something important and valuable to loose.
Prostitution is recession proof, right? Imagine being an attractive SWF without job skills. You goto welfare. You qualify for a pittance and are required to take the first job that comes along to mitigate costs for this social program… and that’s just one example where prostitution can bite you right on the cookie whether you’re a whore or not. And doesn’t this idea subjugate women? Think outside the box, bitches.
Kay – I think it’s kind of sexist for you to say it subjugates women. I was referring to male and transexual prostitutes as well.
You probably are right being as how you’re clearly aligned with the moral majority (I admit I’m not). People all have their reasons to be in this game and there are forces at work legal or not that draw them in. It’s especially apparent when you look at all the teenage girls who think it’s cool to dress & act like Paris Hilton.
All I’m saying is it might be safer for everyone if it was regulated – I don’t ever expect that to happen so rest easy.
Some woman( and I speak of only woman, because you kay also specified ONLY woman), are perfectly qualified to join the work force, move to countries where they can safely and legally prostitute because it’s a choice. They choose that lifestyle because they are sexual beings, and don’t feel like falling into what society views as “morale”which as ( I think ) is pretty much a result of what no dogma already pointed out.
A woman is going to have a mind of her own, and if she is going to make a choice to turn to prostitution, as your daughter, and whether you or not you agree with her choice, don’t you think it would be better to have the option to turn to somewhere where it can be regulated and practiced safely?
O and Kay, as murder junkie mentioned, “I was referring to male and transexual prostitutes as well. ” QFT
Murder Junkie, it’s a lost cause. Kay is all about the equality of women, by depending on as kay once described it: “alpha male” strength.
All men are stupid suckers. They all pay money, or drinks or dinner or something of value to fuck.
Yup, sorry you can’t find a decent girl lugger and feel that you need to call them all whores. Pretty sad life you have going on there.
Tears….tears streaming down my face. Remind me to not wear a skirt this summer….mark of the DEVIL!
hahahhahahahahaahah
The whores are the decent girls. What makes you think I can’t find one?:)
“because they are sexual beings” pffft… every animal on the planet fucks, moron.
…and yet, humans are the only ones who try to control the harmless sexual practices of others….
Every animal but me *sigh*
Exactly, lets get serious here. Why is it a ‘woman’s right’ to have an abortion, and a thousand other things, and not fuck people as she sees fit. double pfffffft morons
LOL Miles… poor guy.
Yes Me0w! Human beings are the only self actualizing creatures on the planet too. hmmmm Human beings are quite remarkable in that they can even discern disease within the population and take action to prevent and/or cure it. No other animal on the planet does that either. Do you think we should behave like animals because of this other nasty quality resulting from higher intelligence?
Harmless? What about HIV and other STI’s? Pregnancy? Emotional trauma? Prostitution, even if legalized, is not exactly harmless and risk free.
Lugger, by outlawing prostitution we do exactly that… ensure women (or transvestites or whomever) can fuck who they want. Like I said, legalizing prostitution sounds like a great idea if you’re young and cannot think beyond the end of summer vacation. Draw it up in the big picture and, you tell me, who’s a whore and should be taxed for fucking versus who’s not a whore and can fuck for any number of reasons? How do we monitor for tax evasion? There was a time we’d seek permission from a Nobleman before fucking our spouse… legalizing and regulating prostitution is something pretty dam close… give it a few generations and see how well that commodity serves you then.
Another thing to consider is… what if John catches a disease from a registered whore? Should the whore be prevented from fucking after that? That would stomp on her constitutional right to earn a living doing her trade… a real can of worms that threatens to take us ever further back than the dark ages.
My 2 cents…I don’t think most women become prostitutes “because they are sexual beings.” I think that might be based on the erroneous belief that women make their living from sex because they want sex so badly. This might make sense if johns were particularly known for their sexual skills. Plenty of women want sex quite badly but they simply sleep with a lot of people and don’t feel the need to charge for it. Pros sell sex because they need and want the money, not because they’re nymphos. Not saying no pro ever enjoys their work, just that that raggedy woman you see waiting on the corner is probably not there because she’s somehow addicted to sex….and she represents the majority of the global sex trade.
On the surface, the idea of legalizing and regulating prostitution sounds good because it might afford more protection for the sex workers. However, I don’t think legalization will eliminate illegal sex. Junkies will still turn tricks for drug money and young girls will continue to see themselves pimped out. Just like there’s lots of illegal card games going on in Vegas, legalization will not eliminate the problem.
As long as there is someone willing to pay for sex, there will be someone willing to sell it.
Just having plain old sex carries the same risk, Miles. While not entirely ‘harmless’, any harm is only to those who choose to participate, which ideally would be consenting adults who were aware of potential risks (I realize that’s not always the case).
Many other legal activities people undertake carry degrees of risk, including various professions. Should we then concur that skydiving, rock climbing, coal mining, underwater welding, etc ought to be illegal, due to their potential risks?
If anything, legalized prostitution greatly reduces the risks involved, with regular testing for STIs, promotion of safer sex practices, and most importantly, the care and safety of the women working.
We’re talking about something that already exists here, and will continue to exist, whether you agree with it or not. The real issue is how to reduce the risks involved, for the benefit of prostitutes and for society.
Well lets look at some facts->
Yes Dartmouth is a “hot spot” for Prostitution but with the colthes you described subject zero wearing are now a days popular colthing, open toed shoes and fishnets also spandex and neon colors are “hot” right now.
So she was prob just a lady down with “todays fashion”
Prohibition = failure. FTW 🙂
I went to school in Amsterdam and in one of my classes a prostitute came into talk to us about her job and the regulation of her business. Imagine my surprise when this prostitute was a Canadian woman who chose to move to be a part of a clean regulated workforce. She was enroute to retire when she was 45. 1FA1 is right – some people do choose this lifestyle. I hate to say it, but Kay is right too – some people don’t choose the lifestyle but have it chosen for them because of their circumstances. I think the main point is to remember that there will always be a sex trade, and would we rather have control over it and make it as safe as it can be – or would we rather leave others to control it for their own gain?
A couple of more points…
(You’re all going to hate me for this but) Imagine being a real hard luck case like say a 23 year old version of that Vietnamese kid you see on the cbc website. Do you think he or the person who agrees to sell sex to him is a criminal?
It may not be a big problem here but globally thousands of women are abducted and tricked into this line of work, often held captive. The more places that legalize/regulate this industry (legal or not it’s not going away), the less chance this would happen as legal/unionized places would have regular spot checks eventually do their part to rat out the under the table ones (cutting into their biz).
Every bad thing you could do to a prostitute, including taking her money or even just fucking her, is illegal. What more risk should our society remove? We arrest them, clean them up, give them a chance at new education and a new life path utilizing social programs designed with exactly them in mind, Legal Aid included… what the fuck more do you want? Should we stoke their crack pipes for them too?
For once I’m gonna pull a Nova Scotian.. if you want to be legally fucked for money I invite you leave for a country that embraces such foolishness before my daughter hears your crap…. retiring at 45… This earns your respect? How the fuck am I supposed to get my teenager to go to university or obtain ANY education when she could do nothing but fuck for money and be considered a “success” in fucking Amsterdam? Back to fucking Amsterdam with you!
this is true!
but hey you guys she may not work in the life of Prostitution she could just dress like a slut
junkie, 1-800-222-TIPS.
Issue of the day? HUMAN TRAFFICKING
Go make a difference.
My understanding is that the number of illegal immigrants into the amsterdam sex trade has increased because of legalization, not decreased and Amsterdam is having a big problem with human trafficking. Documents can be forged and john’s probably don’t ask too many questions.
Kay, you must not have that much faith in your parenting skills if you think your girl is going to turn tricks because it’s easy money. I don’t buy the argument that legalized prostitution suddenly makes it an appealing career choice. I wouldn’t want to be fucked strangers for money everyday. I’d rather work in a call center or McDonald’s.
Kay, why the fuck to you have to get so god dam nasty all of the time. Is it because your lack of education on the matter leads you to no other choice?Take the focus off the healthy debate at hand and just put it all on the insults you are dishing out? You just agreed with what I said, and as meow said, we are the only ones that look down on it. Harmless? As miles said, not so much.
Prostitution, would still be extremely high risk, for all the reason’s miles stated. At least if it was legal, certain legalities (some in which meow stated in her last comment) could be put in place in an attempt to at least prevent some of these risks. Risk free hell no. Regulated, even a little bit…is much better than not at all.
Miles, where I do agree with what you’re saying to a point, the people “buying the sex” are much more likely going to go to a place that has more guarantee’s of it’s safety. Will there still be junkies having sex for drugs, and drug dealers using addicts to benefit themselves, yes, that will never change. It’s kinda like how some strippers decided to do “after hour” work. There is no foul proof way of regulating anything.
In conclusion, my perspective on the matter pretty much sounds the same as should be working’s does.
So what if your daughter wants to fuck for money? Maybe that will make her happy. She’ll probably be fucking for money one way or another anyway, just in another form of compensation.
Hmm bunch more comments made by the time I made mine..Kay…for all of the reason’s you just stated, wouldn’t our society also benefit from less strain on our economy by legalizing it (o the shit I am going to get from that comment)
IMO, Your job (and mine) as a parent, is to bestow our views of what we believe is to live in a respectful manner, and to prepare and arm our children with as much knowledge and information as possible, so that they are as prepared as we can get them, for all of life’s situations (and to know that there is no situation that if they need help with, they can’t turn to us). If you shelter your daughter her whole life, what’s she going to do when she is no longer under your shelter and is exposed to all these things you hid from her? Wouldn’t she be better equipped to deal with the world if she had education on all the things you so fear her turning to?
Miles, if you read back to my original post I referred to the Aussie model NOT the Dutch one. They do have a problem with that sort of thing (trafficing) in the ‘Dam but from what I understand it’s not common in OZ due to the system in place there. I think that “out in the public eye / window shopping” thing is just wrong too.
FA, For the record, I am not opposed to legalization of prostitution, I just wanted to point out that it won’t completely solve the problem. The real problem, in my opinion, is the guys who are willing to pay for sex. Even in a legalized prostitution society, I think it’s important to protect the women working in the inevitable illegal trade. Decriminalize it for them, or give reduced sentences and come down harder on the pimps and johns. That’s also something we can do now while we are debating whether or not to legalize prostitution.
Yes, kay, nothing gives someone a fresh start in life like an arrest and criminal record for prostitution. Some time behind bars will give anyone a more positive outlook, and they’ll be so much better prepared to cope when they’re back on the street. Uh-huh, sure. Do you have any idea of the actual success rates of getting women off the street? Especially when they’re under pressure of an abusive pimp, or addicted to drugs, the likelihood is great that they’ll be back out there again, arrested numerous times, and possibly beaten or killed if they try to escape the life.
“How the fuck am I supposed to get my teenager to go to university or obtain ANY education when she could do nothing but fuck for money and be considered a “success””…..Is this a big problem for you, kay? Is your teenaged daughter looking really inclined to the sex trade, so much so that you can’t convince her to go to university instead? Seriously, get a reality check. If your daughter is of the mindset that she wants to “fuck for money”, she’s probably gonna do it anyway, legal or not.
kay, you get on a soapbox to defend the rights of women so often, but yet you would deny basic rights and quality of life to certain women because you don’t agree with their choices? Shame on you.
O come on miles, I always agree with you, I have to disagree with you sometimes, even if it is a disagreement made up in my head:)
I do think your last point is a valid argument, but I still think that legalizing it would be a safer route in protecting the prostitutes, but as murder junkie mentioned, I also don’t agree with the “out in the public eye/ window shopping” way to do it.
My apologies Murder Junkie…I did miss the Aussie thing. I don’t know much about that system, but I’ll look into how they are circumventing the problems Amsterdam is having.
I agree totally, Miles. The women are easier targets to bust and therefore take the brunt of police efforts. The pimps and johns are far more dangerous and harmful to society. Our laws are far too harsh on sex workers, criminalizing them when, in reality, they need protection and options most of all.
Holy shit Tim, I just went to that link….enough said.
Wow, Kay – I scanned my post to see where I said that retiring at 45 because you were a prostitute was considered ‘success’. I don’t believe I ever said that, in fact I actually said you were right in some of your points. As a reader of the LTWWB comments, I know better than to enter into a debate with you – but how you misconstrue things really is astounding. For me it boils down to: better the devil we know then the devil we don’t. By regulating at least you can try to make it safer for the people who are in the trade.
Why is it ,if I meet a girl in a pub in Halifax. Bring her to my home (out past Enfeild) & we have sex & I give her $60.00 for cab fare home. It isn’t illegal & we have broken no laws.
But if I gave her $60.00 for having sex with me , we have broken the Law ?!!?
The problem isn’t with her or I, theproblem is the Law is LAME & STUPID.
I’ve heard Prostitution called the world’s oldest profession. IT has been around as far back as we can look & probably will continue long into the future. I believe its way past time for us to deal with this in the same way as its done in Nevada or Amsterdam.
Holy moment of clarity!!
Blaming the ‘media’ is probably the laziest, most pointless excuse for *anything* that I’ve heard in a lifetime.
Folks – blaming the media is the equivalent of shooting the messenger. Its ironic how we blame the media but refuse to shoot a messenger in the same instance without realizing our own fault.
All “media” has a source. If you refuse to shoot the messenger, take your head out of your behind and quit blaming the media. Why not blame Aboriginals instead? That’s just as pointless!
I try blame the aboriginal media. APTN is Satan.
Its true. When my cats see Tom Jackson they hiss and spit at the TV. Sometimes they ask, “Wanna get crazy wit us, vato?”
me0w, “…would deny basic rights and quality of life to certain women” And what basic rights would these be? The right to not use illegal drugs? The right to not be told or sold by pimps and other “human traffickers”? The right to education and quality health care? How about the right to not break the law every dam day of their lives? They all ready have the right to fuck other willing adults… so what rights are being refused by not legalizing prostitution?
Do you know how many grateful addicts are saved because of forced intervention? Nobody does but I’ll tell you every single addict who has SUCCESSFULLY quit the shit holds zero resentment towards those who forced them into an effective rehab program. If they end up with a criminal record over it, when compared to the value of living, breathing and starting over again, it’s a dam fine fresh start. Get your life together for real after that and we’ll give you a pardon.
And, no, it’s not that I’m a bad parent who would churn out whores. Fuck you all for implying it. All I know is that if I could run a brothel and make more money than my entire family put together before the age of 45 that there would be no shame in such a pursuit if “pussy as a commodity” is sanctioned by YOU (our democratic government). When your bright 17 year old is planning their future and does a salary comparison, and since money makes the world go round (we even measure success by it), what leg does a parent have to stand on? Like I said… a real can of worms.
erm Kay, the legalization of prostitution would HELP with all that you just listed above. It would help by deterring customers AWAY from the prostitutes that are also addicted to drugs. Woman would also take control of their business and NOT be sold by pimps and WOULDN”T be sold by human traffickers. They could even then possibly feel better about themselves and feel more confident to GET an education.
Actually Kay, the implication was that you would NOT turn out whores. You seem to think that legalizing prostitution is going to turn all women in to prostitutes because they can make money at it. Not every woman, especially women with options, is going to think selling themselves for money is a good idea.
If prostitution were legal right now, would you change careers and start hooking Kay? Probably not, you have better ways to make a living. I have a hard time believing that women would start spreading their legs in droves for a little extra coin. I have more faith in women than that.
Hey M (or whatever you’re calling yourself today; Hugger, Lugger?)I have a quesstion: Are you by any chance a rapist? Your comments about women resemble those of a suspect from an episode of ‘Law & Order: Special Victims Unit’. Otherwise, you’re probably a 50 year-old virgin and every female you’ve ever been interested in has responded to you with absolute repulsion. I know I would.
Yes, I’m a 50 year-old virgin serial rapist who lives in my mother’s basement. And you might as well throw those other lamewad comments out there, karma will get you and troll. sigh. BORING.
More: your $60 has to be “for sex” OR “for cab fare”….you can’t have it both ways.
“so what rights are being refused by not legalizing prostitution?” The right to sell what belongs to them.
The number of dead addicts far over shadows the number of saved addicts. The dead ones can’t praise the system because they’re DEAD.
I have no idea how to respond to the last paragraph because it made no sense. Um, their left leg? No, both? What?
You can retire in your honest employment by 45 with just a “little extra coin”? Doubtful. We’re not talking about raising a wage from $20/hr to $40/hr. We’re talking $1000’s each and every hour on the backs of many whores working a brothel.
If within a few short years of “labour” I could generate an income greater than that of the average cigarette company CEO fucking sign me up! I won’t even have to fuck anybody… I’ll leave that to my employees, right? and my peers judge me only by my paycheque, right? Because this is a legal profession, right? How is that any different from a pimp’s role in prostitution?
And how to separate illegal drugs from prostitution… if you don’t think one begets the other you know nothing about the state of prostitution in our country.
Hey fizz, we used to OWN slaves too. They were called “property”, remember? The moment you call pussy “property”, a commodity or something that can be sold you propagate the idea that a human being can be owned and sold… this concept is in the heart of pimps, human traffickers and, yes, even the prostitutes.
I’m expressing my opinion, ‘Lugger’, and my opinion is that you are genuinely sinister.
I’m a “lamewad,” huh? Good for you on the comeback!!
Ridiculous Kay. Not many hookers make $1000’s an hour. It’s more like 40 buck a pop (so to speak) and with regulation it would probably be about $100 for 20min (50 Euros for 20 min in Amsterdam).
And just because you can make money at it doesn’t mean people will do it. Do YOU value money so much that you would sell yourself for it? Not many women would. The only ones who will, will be those with no other options. If most women were willing to sell their bodies, the porn industry would be even more busy than it is. Only a small section of society will ever consider prostitution/porn as a viable trade, regardless of the income or safety issues.
Most women, just like they do now, will go to school, and get jobs and eke out a non-sex trade living.
Seriously Kay, even legal prostitution is not glamorous. It’s fucking strangers for money. Legalizing it does not mean brothel owners will be recruiting at the high school job fair.
Thanks for making my point for me, kay. You’re totally right, in its current state, prostitution is often slavery. Pimps coerce, threaten and bully, taking ownership of these women and their money, and denying them their freedom of choice. They often addict them to drugs as a means of control. They make money off the backs of these women, and give them nothing in return. That is where legalization would make a difference.
You asked about basic human rights. Referencing the Universal Declaration of Basic Human Rights, here are a couple of examples:
In a legal brothel, the women would be entitled to workers rights. Those who run brothels would be subject to the same laws as any other employer. Sex workers would get to keep the majority of what they earned and their earnings would be taxed. They would enjoy benefit plans, overtime, vacation days, and even unions.
In a legal brothel, sex workers would no longer be enslaved. They would be there of their own free will, and would be free of abuse and fear. At any time, they could choose to leave, and would be protected by law. No longer would they have to put up with beatings, intimidation, and rape without recourse. The law would be on their side in terms of rights, and they could go to the police without fear of persecution.
…We all know that legalization isn’t going to end illegal activities related to prostitution, but it will sure as hell make it a lot safer for a lot of people. The endless tax dollars spent on busting sex workers has done nothing to curb the issue, and has resulted in sex workers being segregated from society, left without help or options. Anybody with any compassion at all should be able to see the injustice in this.
Maybe the problem is really both the desperation caused by poverty/lack of options, and the view that sex/people’s bodies are, or should be, a commodity for sale and purchase.
Wow! I didn’t know we had “dress police” in this country!
Really, OP, you should have immediately alerted the proper authorities; I am sure they would have put a stop to the flagrant immodesty of these “fishnet stockings” and “open-toed shoes” of which you speak.
kay, you cant compare someone owning their own body to slavery. If I own my body and I am empowered to do with it what I wish then I am not a slave. You can’t be a slave to yourself, the idea is ludicrous. Choosing to sell you own body has absolutely nothing to do with slavery, it’s when someone else sells your body that slavery lifts its ugly head. I’m interested to hear who you think your body belongs to if not to yourself.
Holland has legal pot. Ironically, they also have the lowest number of dependants or “addicts” regarding its fine products.
Don’t see every Dutch gal rushing to the red light district on their 18th birthdays either.
Well said NGF.
As soon as you make something harmless (like pot) illegal, it becomes harmful.
“You can retire in your honest employment …..a pimp’s role in prostitution?
Kay: What. The. Fuck.
Did you seriously just say that! I am seriously offended by the implication you are making, and embarrassed that someone of the same sex as me would imply such a thing of her female comrades. Speak for yourself fine, but not for me, and not for all females. Do you know how many idiot guy’s (and apparently gals too) are out there that would take something like that to heart! How many idiots’ out there that you just further proved there already existing judgment of woman! Thank fucking God intelligent men like Miles exist and have no problem reading how absolutely ridiculous that sounds.
“And how to separate illegal drugs from prostitution… if you don’t think one begets the other you know nothing about the state of prostitution in our country.” Exactly, in our country where it is illegal and there is no sense of regulation or safety for this choice of life. The individuals who choose this lifestyle for different reasons leave the country. And before you go all ape and say good for them yadda yadda. Just stop, and think for a second. If there is less of a demand for junkie prostitutes, or for pimps selling there “whores” ..THEY will be the ones more likely to leave and look elsewhere.
O and by the way, when I say “Thank fucking God intelligent men” exist, I am in no way implying that women are more intelligent then men, I kinda realized how that sounded after I posted that comment 🙁
omg i think the OP is probably one of the security guards laid off from the former penhorn mall who has nothing better to do now that he cant chase shoplifters and catalogue dress code at the mall. can we rename him paul blart tim?
Murder Junkie and 1fallingangels1 are absolutely right:
The problems prostitution poses for sex sellers, sex buyers, and society mostly exists simply because it is illegal.
Nice Goin’ Fat is also right:
If the sex trade were legalized, people (I won’t just say ‘women’/’girls’. Think outside the box (so to speak), kay.) are not going to quit their jobs en masse to join it.
For one thing, the more people who are willing to do it, the less it will pay, and the glamour factor (if there is any at all) will diminish.
There would be more demand, since potential buyers (‘john’ is a sexist term) will not have fear of the law, but there would be MUCH more supply, as the potential sellers would be EVERYONE since sex is an unskilled trade. Eventually, specializations and schools might start popping up, but most buyers would be fine with a Cavalier instead of a Porsche.
kay,
I understand your concern about burdening people with ‘a commodity between their legs’, but what you are not acknowledging is that that is already the case. All that is up for discussion is whether we should open up a relatively safe avenue for getting that commodity to the people who are determined to get it.
For those people, keeping prostitution illegal makes drunken hook-ups, date rape drugs, and intimidation artificially attractive options. It also makes the prostitution route more dangerous for both them and the seller. It also lines the pockets of pimps who are far more likely than either the buyer or seller to be into worse crime.
Legalizing prostitution would pull the plug on all of that.
One caveat: This would happen very quickly only if prostitution were legalized for a large segment of the country/world at once. Since it would (will!) likely happen only area by area, growing pains would be seen, but they would pale in comparison to all the negative consequences that come about regularly from keeping it in the shadows.
Just kill the black market—for anything (think drugs, too)—and you solve so many problems. Let’s cut out ‘vice’ policing in general, already.
Thank’s no dogma. You have a much more detailed and clear way of putting it though:)
You read all that? lol Some things set me off. People trying to control others for no good reason is one of them.
Can I get a freedom vs security quote (Jefferson, I think) over here?
omfg! There’s no way I’m getting involved in a prostitution bitch again.
However I will say this. OP: You. Are. Psychotic. Please don’t rape me.
Nanners,
Come on…just one comment: Are you for or against? lol
…and I see you got the same vibe I got from the OP.
I definitely detected some “If I can’t get sex (besides by force), I don’t want anyone else to have it” in there.
“De~ar kindly Sargeant Krupke…”
I’m willing to bet anything that the OP is some elderly chap who also gets nervous when kids with hoodies pass him by on the sidewalk. Get a life, bud!
I am for the legalization of prostitution. That’s all you’re getting out of me.
Miles… it’s not that I value money so much that I’d sell MY body for it but legalize prostitution and suddenly selling YOUR DAUGHTER’S PUSSY ain’t such a bad proposition (Capitalism 101). Like I said, I wouldn’t even have to do the fucking and let’s say I “employ” 10 sluts… at $100/pop… that’s about $200/hr from each whore times 10 whores, that’s $2000/hr and my overhead is rent (maybe), electricity (maybe), water (maybe) and a single box of condoms (maybe… it takes all kinds). I’ll pay the girls minimum wage as would be required by employment standards law and maybe I’ll give a bonus here and there, maybe let them keep their tips… maybe. Shall I continue or can you see how one would desire an income like that without ever getting their hands dirty? Hell, we’ll make all the girls work from home and write off their own condoms as a necessary business expense and I’ll just collect the money. How is this different from being a pimp? What would regulation do? Prevent me from operating on Sundays? LOL
Me0w, “beatings, intimidation, and rape”… are all illegal right now. It’s not like there’s some caveat that says if you do it to a whore it’s okay. It’s not. Legalizing prostitution has zero impact in this sense.
Me0w, “the same laws as any other employer” The law says I have to pay minimum wage, not ensure the whores keep the majority of what they make. I’ve seen some good commission jobs out there but NONE allow the seller to keep the majority of the product’s selling price. None. Otherwise you’re an entrepreneur but brothels don’t “hire” entrepreneurs do they?
fizz, of course your body belongs to YOU. The moment we allow it to be sold it becomes a commodity that can be owned by OTHERS then sold by others. What’s your definition of slavery?
Oh, and what’s that pussy worth? How about your daughter’s? You want your government to put a regulated price on that? OMG Imagine!
Fat, how does one identify a “pot addict”? When we mention drugs in relation to prostitution you know we’re not talking about pot, right?
Angel, come down a little off that hoot before you reply… WTF are you talking about? Never mind.
Dogma, you actually think having a legal whore available to a man will prevent date rape and drunken sex? You’re right when you mention kill the black market but that discussion is appropriate for pot and that’s it. There will be no legalizing black market weapons, cocaine, heroine, ecstasy, etc… you’re out of your mind to make a blanketing statement like that.
No, I don’t think girls who turn 18 will jump onto the bandwagon just because they have a pussy and it would be legal to sell it. I think that same girl will get her business degree and then do the math. And that’s just the tip of the iceberg.
I think I’ve said it all before and I’ve had enough of this bitch. None of you have provided any good reasons to legalize prostitution save for separating the junkie whores from the healthy whores (an oxymoron methinks) and that wouldn’t change anything at all except maybe my tax bracket. You even admit the illegal sex trade would continue to exist, the drugs, the beatings, the rapes, the human trafficking so what are you bitching about? Why do you want this?
And how do you deal with a sick hooker? Fire her with cause? Try that in any other profession and it’s an infringement of human rights. What if it’s AIDS? Fire her for life? Ban her from whoring? This helps solve a problem? Maybe we’ll insure her against “workplace hazards”. uh huh… and what happens if the condom breaks and the john gave her a disease? Would I as her employer be responsibile? Could they legally go on strike? LOL It just goes on and on… I said it in the beginning, at first legalizing the trade seems an obvious, liberal and modern step forward… but that first step is straight into a monster can of worms.
Think outside the box, bitches.
If I’m selling myself I’m not a slave because I’m selling, wait for it… MYSELF.
By your logic everyone with a job that they need their body to do is a slave. Is a model a slave? Only if she is being forced to model by and external party. What is it about sex that sets off slavery alarm bells in your head? In essence we are all selling part of ourselves when we go to work, we sell our services, our time. Hell, when two people have casual sex without money they are using the other person for pleasure and vice versa. We pay each other in pleasure instead of dollars. It’s okay to use someone if they are okay with being used.
Re: Original Post (don’t think my brain can handle another prostitution debate this early)
Sounds like a 1950s spy novel…
“slave to the grind” suddenly makes sense to you, fizz? Keep diggin’, you’ll hit worms soon enough. First of all, realize that if a greedy bitch like me can legally earn a profit on the backs of others (employees), this new revenue opportunity is going to be exploited… maybe even as common as McD’s or Blockbuster Video. Capitalism will decide.
Your definition of “employment” is not rocket science and is pretty bang on. However, a bad case of genital herpes, chlamydia or your period isn’t going to prevent you from doing any other job in Canada. And what about the woman’s right to say no to sex (women have worked hard to be heard in this way) or to NOT announce a nasty yeast infection to her employer and the “clients”? What about the aids infected workers? Do they get special rights too or do they just have to work in the “cheap” brothels? Let capitalism decide?
No other profession on the planet would see you dismissed from a job over a health issue or over refusal to exploit your body but are we going to develop a special charter of employment standards just for brothels and their workers? How about special health insurance just for these types of diseases? Maybe we also legislate when toy fucking is most appropriate too?
Shall we stuff their crack pipes as we scratch at this iceberg?
So far the best logic I’ve heard in regards to prostitution in general on this board is from More, “Why is it ,if I meet a girl in a pub in Halifax. Bring her to my home (out past Enfeild) & we have sex & I give her $60.00 for cab fare home. It isn’t illegal & we have broken no laws.”
I think the proponents of legalized prostitution should put this in their pipes instead of asking me and my government to sanction and make further provisions for their “profession”. We all ready provide policing, health services, community services, addictions treatment, shelters…
If a woman stays with an abusive husband I’m sure you’d agree she’s a idiot given all the service available to HELP HERSELF out of the situations. Dial 911 and we’ll help her out of it too…. THINK people, THINK!
… shit, I said all that before, didn’t I? It’s a real button pusher for me, obviously. Sorry.
Man Kay
your in a fighting mood yikes
Shit, I should really think before I have sex near a Burger king…..
Kay – I’m outside the box, slashing it to pieces with a straight razor!
Me too murder junkie:)
Kay – Keep in mind if this were to become legal it would be just another shitty thing you’re daughter could become on a long list of already socially accepted shitty things. Maybe she’ll grow up to kill in the name of Jesus. Or maybe she’ll grow up to be like the cross-eyed retard OP who thinks they’re some some of hero by playing “Dartmouth vice detective”.
Junkie, you said you were “out of the box” but please realize, although there is a “long list of already socially accepted shitty things” AND not one of them involve selling people or their intimate parts in Canada. Even the legal escorts, strippers, lap dancers and bra models fall under the protection of no-touching-allowed simply because the body is not legally for “sale”. Legalized prostitution has far reaching consequences and I hope in exploring the few worms (potential scenario’s) we’ve reviewed here that more of you bitches are now thinking “out of the box”.
Kay, you just need to realize that your view of the world isn’t any more out of the box than most other people’s on here. Most of the discussion here about legalizing prostitution has looked at the issue from many angles, and despite this, many people still feel that the pro’s of legalization outweigh the con’s. Several of your points are quite valid and other people have addressed your concerns with reasonable counterpoints. All in all a good discussion, but not everyone who doesn’t agree with you is running around with blinders on inside the box. Suggesting such a thing is insulting, a bit arrogant and does a disservice to some of the otherwise useful things you have to say.
Amen!
Yes, kay, thanks so much for enlightening us all. Your wisdom and insight are ever so appreciated. Your point of view is always well-thought out, and expressed so eloquently. You are truly an asset to women, and the whole human race. Though you may lack the power of logic, you certainly don’t lack the power of expression, and you have proven, to all those who doubt, that it is not necessary to understand things in order to argue about them.
It is my fondest wish that the world was comprised of more people like you. For it is people like you, with your ability to forgo all valid consideration and your unwillingness to relent even after you say you’re done, that keep the internets churning with the level of intellect that enhances all our lives daily. Brava, kay, brava!
Well said, Miles.
Ugh, so here’s the deal with health issues and jobs. Yes there aren’t many jobs for which one can be legally fired for having a health issue. However that doesn’t mean that there are none. If a bus driver became blind would be force his employer to allow him or her to continue driving? It’s called the point of undue hardship. If employing someone who has a valid ground for a human right complaint (sex, gender, marital status, disability, etc.) can be done without the employer facing undue hardship then the employer is bound to continue to employ them. I think we can all agree that a sex worker with AIDS is causing undue hardship, both to his or her employer for liability and to the public in general – the very individuals these rights were designed to protect.
And in terms of people making a profit off of the ‘backs’ of workers – I think that’s the whole point of regulation and a lot of the people in this thread are talking about. I don’t think we would legalize the sex trade and NOT write new employment regulations (for that trade). That’s the whole point, right? The law can be written to avoid expolitation. It can also be written to protect those who are working within it should they contract diseases – like self insuring. We can regulate our banks so that they don’t fall pray to the greed of their American counterparts – is it too far a stretch to think we can do the same in other industries?
come on bitches, give me something valid to consider! And explain how my logic is flawed. The other bitches know it so I’ll tell you too, me0w, I speak from experience…. I was once a drug addicted whore so come on, go ahead, enlighten ME with opinions backed by LOGIC to which I haven’t all ready responded to reasonably. Admit it, the only population who would like to see this happen are the STILL drug addicted whores who keep getting busted and don’t want to give up their dope nor the lifestyle that goes with it.
Should Be Working (missed your post while I was posting) please tell us WHY employment standards and our constitution should be re-written to accommodate whores and what is it that legalization would prevent and how… never mind the social impact such a (backward) change to our culture would have on future generations and just tell me WHY and then how legalization would improve today’s situation.
Your logic is flawed because it ignores reality. There are several real world examples (Holland, Australia, Nevada, Scandinavian countries) where prostitution has been decriminalized or legalized and from those examples we can tell that the concerns you have are not likely to materialize and certainly not to the degree you describe.
as usual miles, you’re far too eloquent, correct and … well… nice.
her cliched “think outside of the box” and “supid pill” references alone are enough to irritate me.
I try to kill with kindness sometimes but she makes it tough… luckily I haven’t been provoked in a while now and I find myself smiling more…
Kay, I don’t think our employment standards or our constitution should be rewritten. My explanation of health issues and jobs discusses our constitution as it is NOW written.
In terms of employment standards – I’d leave them alone too, they’re just fine the way they are. I am discussing imaginary statutes and regulations designed to deal with the sex trade. The same thing I thought we were all discussing.
Mole Rat I responded to you once & it was deleted…actually about half my posts here get deleted , I’m surprised they’re not delelting them all.
But my point was money changes hands & if you look at the charges that Halifax cops lay against John’s & Prostitues they are “for communicating for the purpose” of committing the “crime” of Prostitution.
So we can legally sell ourselves as Laborers, Service providers or specialists or workers in any way we like & that selling of your body & mind is legal ! Also we can have sex with consenting adults in any group or one on one setting, & that’s legal.
But as soon as a couple of dollars changes hands after a sexual encounter WE’RE ALL CRIMINALS. With all the real crime going on I believe its way past time to change the law on Prostitution, but keep it illegal for anyone to pimp someone. Let the sexworker earn their money & be taxed just like the rest of us !
YES More, RIGHT ON!
The money changes hands, but it would be difficult to convince me that what you describe constitutes prostitution. Maybe if you gave her money above the $60. No one works at a job for just the compensation of their travel expenses.
More, the issue with what you are describing is that your scenarios involve consenting adults who would typically not be described as sex workers (giving a few bucks to some chick who came home from the bar with you). It is highly unlikely if you gave that chick $60 bucks for a cab or for sex you would be busted. In fact, how many escorts get busted for prostitution? Probably not that many even though they are fucking for money.
The problem is not with scenarios like you describe, but the more popular type of hooking where some woman on the street is either being pimped out or is trading sex for drug money. For me, the benefit in legalization is to provide a safer environment for the women. I could care less about making sex more accessible and safer for the John.
Mole Rat the $60.00 I picked was because that’s approximate cab fare from here to the city. Whether it was used for cab fare ,which would be legal. As opposed to $60.00 for sex & that’s illegal. Was the point I was trying to get out there.
One way is legal.
The other way is not.
But it is in both cases money changing hands isn’t it ?
kay, even if I thought you were sincere, your personal history is irrelevant. I refuse to debate this issue with you further because you most certainly have not responded reasonably to any of my points. Your posts are sensationalistic, filled with vulgarities, and though excessively verbose, often fail to do anything but display your penchant for melodrama. By refusing to acknowledge points made by others, and ceaselessly repeating absurdly concocted scenarios, you render yourself merely an asinine sideshow to an otherwise interesting debate.
Ha, I just reread the original bitch again – I had forgotten its craziness. I wonder what the OP thinks of the debate he has spawned. He’s likely rocking back and forth in the fetal position somewhere…
Also, if the OP is reading, can you post a video of how a prostitute walks? I’m just curious…
I can’t see myself what is different about me & someone I just met going back to my place for sex being any different than me and a working girl I just met going to my place…Its semantics really. I would also like to see that these people who work in this way to be able to have a safer place to work from than the streets. All the laws are IMO just a way to placate the damn religious minded. Their morality is being forced on all of us by lawmakers who are afraid of what will happen if they change these draconian outdated laws.
Remember Religion’s are called ‘organized religious groups’ for a reason…& large groups of like minded people have a louder voice than the individual even if the numbers over all are the same.(one need only to go to a church on Sunday Morning count the people & then go to the mall to see where there are the most people)…but the religious morality keeps outdated laws in place, that in this case put people at risk!
“asinine sideshow”…I like that 🙂
I know why you said $60. Yes, it is money changing hands in both cases. But it strikes me as more of a gift than a payment. If she WAS a working girl, surely she’d ask for more in payment than cab fare back to the city. Otherwise where is the profit…unless she walks all the way home? Thereby losing out on time she could have spent with other johns? The only way I could see this actually qualifying as prostitution is if she asked for more money and you were too much of a dick to comply, but not enough of a dick to deny her enough to get home.
Assuming it was just a regular non-pros encounter, then it’s obviously just a gift, just as driving her back to the city yourself would be a gift.
Also, what Miles said.
More, I think the difference is this. You negotiate a price with a working girl before you get the sex. You take a chick home with you from the bar, the implication is that you are trading sex, for sex. With the hooker, you are trading sex for money and that’s prostitution. If, the next morning you want to give the girl you brought home from the bar $100 as a gift, I don’t think that qualifies as prostitution.
sorry mole rat…that’s pretty much what you just said. I type too slow sometimes.
Umm..kay, if you were once a drug addicted whore, then you wouldn’t have been able to work within the legal proximity of a sex worker. Just like full out junkies can’t work at any other job, the same would apply. So if this was successfully done most patron’s would rather go to someone who can legally provide them sex that can be guaranteed in some sense to be done safely. This would most likely result in you having a harder time finding patron’s of your own and you would have less money to buy drugs with.
I type too fast!
wow can’t get through them all. Kay yours are toooo long. So I will just give my opinion sorry if I am repeating.
The only difference between a slut and a whore is how much they get paid.
Kay if your daughter wants to be a legal whore all she has to do is go to kijiji- jobs – other they are always looking for girls (and guys) to film fucking or pics naked.
you can raise her right but its her right as an adult (even a young one) to do what she wants with her body.
I agree with alot of the pros.
As for the health issues if your sick with a cold you can’t work at the hospital or old folks home, I would think it was the same.
If you have AIDS then you are now in a specialty area (it’s in how you look at it). You can service the other Aids customers safely. I do think manditory health checks are the way to go.
I think you will have alot of people evaluating whore houses like a resturant, whats on the menu, do they have a health policy, and whats the word on the street about that place … etc
this thread is redonkulously long.
me0w and should be working,
it’s nice to see intelligent responses once in awhile! (even if your correcting me SBW!) (yes there are others as well)
Why is porn legal and prostitution not? Getting paid to have sex is the cornerstone of both.
And point of fact – because it irritates the hell out of me – we have Charter Rights not Constitutional Rights. This is Canada, not America.
Miles, we addressed the increased instances of human trafficking in relation to what’s going on in Amsterdam…. it’s making things worse. And we’re unclear how the model is working in Aussie but “[you] can tell”
Question, where is hardcore porn allowed to be filmed in Canada? Distributing porn and creating it are two different things. I believe the law in Quebec is more lax on the distribution front but I don’t think creating hardcore porn is legal in Canada. Please correct me if I’m wrong.
More, “Its semantics really” AGREED. So let’s not go change our constitution over it.
More, “groups of like minded people have a louder voice” Agreed. There are an awful lot of crack whores whining about this (from jail, between convulsions). Note… none of these arguments reference any organized religion so maybe we’re just talking plain human morality, eh?
Angel, Angel, Angel… “if you were once a drug addicted whore, then you wouldn’t have been able to work within the legal proximity of a sex worker”… you assume I got caught but I didn’t, Big Brother ain’t that big. I’m speaking from experience. Your point that legalization would move them off the street is valid but only for the “healthy” whore. How many of those are out there, I wonder?
The LTWWB section, in it’s entirety is an “asinine sideshow” so, whatever.
Charter of Rights.. you’re right. SORRY
Three, the difference between prostitution and porn is not that subtle. In porn, actors/models get paid to have sex with each other, not the person paying the money. In prostitution, it’s the public solicitation that is illegal really. It’s as if the law is more concerned with keeping hookers and whore houses out of public sight, rather than cracking down on people wanting to exchange money for sex. It didn’t come up yet in this discussion, but Canadian law does not seem to out and out make prostitution illegal.
An excerpt from wikipedia presented because of it’s brevity not because it’s authoritative:
“In Canada, prostitution itself (exchanging sex for money) is not illegal, but most activities surrounding it (such as operating a brothel, being found in a brothel, procuring or soliciting in a public place) are illegal, making it difficult to engage in prostitution without breaking any law.
Soliciting in a public place is illegal (automobiles are considered public space if they can be seen). Running, owning or occupying a brothel is also illegal.”

BTW if i’m not mistaken wasn’t there a parent charged recently because she allowed her under age daughter do the makeup for a shoot in dartmouth. I thought she watched too and the actors reported it because it made them uncomforitable to do this infront of her. So yes Kay some parents talk to their girls about this carreer choice.
Thanks Miles… interesting.
Do ads on Kijiji prove businesses/people creating hardcore porn in Canada are legitimate and legal?
Kay, I don’t think you quite understood what I was implying there..but anyhow.
yeah, I thought you were talkin’ “red light district”. I re-read your post and hoped you’d forgive me after-the-fact. Sorry about that.
Hardcore porn is completely legal in Canada, to produce and distribute. Montreal is the third largest porn producing center in North America, and Toronto is in the top 20.
The more you know……
I wonder what would happen if actor A refused to blow actor B and was fired… is it sexual discrimination, harassment or just cause for insubordination?
It proves their not worried about the law hahaha
That would depend on the contract. Did you read the ads? They were very well written. Although i’m sure there is some improv. This is not called the oldest PROFFESION for nothing.
um..no worries:)
Kay – I don’t think anyone can prove human traffic is worse in Holland due to legalization. While it is a problem there I doubt it’s anymore a problem there than anywhere else in Europe. I theorize it’s gotten worse there (and everywhere else in Western Europe) since the advent of the European Union along with the flood of asylum seekers, and illegal workers from Eastern Europe. If anything at least they have the power to do more about it than most other EU nations.
Three – I’m unsure as to why it irritates the hell out of you to have our rights called ‘constitutional rights’, although more specifically they are charter rights, the charter is a part of our constitution. So both uses are accurate.
“Today’s Media Sexualizing Young Women to Prostitution?”
Is it just me or did the post have little to do with the title? Where’s the correlation?
And I know a few women who dress close to that (if not exactly like that) on a semi-regular basis and aren’t sluts or prostitutes. Its just what they like to wear.
1: Get a life.
2: How about writing something that actually has to do with your post’s title. I came here because I thought it might be a legitimate story/post about the media and its effect on young women today. But no.. just so crack-head stalker going on about some suspected prostitute.. Ugh. waste of time.
Hey junkie… you don’t think, huh?
http://www.humantrafficking.org/updates/64…
“Legalization led to open season on prostituted women in the Netherlands. Organized crime took over the sex industry, and this is the main reason why 30 percent of the window brothels have recently been shutterd by the mayor of Amsterdam. Because they had become a haven for traffickers and unsafe for women, Amsterdam and Rotterdam have also closed down their tipplezones — what some call tolerance zones, but in truth are out-and-out “sacrifice zones” where certain women can be bought and sold…”
This is just one (fairly biased) article but do your research on human trafficking and then try thinking.
I am coming into this bitch somewhat late in the game, but I just had to post.
Kay, a lot of what you are saying is just down right bullshit. I am a BC transplant, so can only coment on the laws as they are in BC, but omf do you ever have it wrong.
I know women who have worked in the sex trade industry, both in legal escort agencies and on the street. All of them would rather be working for an agency. There are many risks to being out on the streets that are minimized by the agency. One, testing is manditory, not just for STDs but also drug testing. If any of the women test possitive they are then let go.
In canada many people lose their jobs due to health issues. If one cannot complete their job duties due to physical restrictions they can then be laid off or fired. Take a back injury for example, in my job I may be let go if I injure my back and cannot do my job, point blank simple. The same regulations apply in the porn industry as well. It is up to the workers to keep their own health insurance and benifits in place. No different then most subcontractors in any other industry.
As for making money off the backs of these women, not so either. An agency can only collect 5% of the earnings by law. The women I knew made $300 per hour, $200 a half. They kept everything but the 5%. Anything higher is considered raketering.
I feel lucky to have met the women I have. They gave me a completely different view on things like this. Legalization does take away a lot of the negative aspects of prostitution, ask a prostitute. You speak of thinking outside the box, when have you ever taken the time to speak to any of these workers? I’m thinking you would never dirty your pretty little hands.
And BTW, even speaking of making money off your own daughter (whether you would ever act on it or not) is even more offensive then anything the original OP could have said.
It’s been said over and over again, it’s the oldest profession in the world. There is a reason for that!
H_d, “If any of the women test positive they are then let go.”
So those whores get a special discount brothel to peddle their disease? To the streets with them? They don’t qualify to whore anymore? Their Canadian chartered right to earn money in their field of “study” abolished just like that… uh huh. In providing for these women we necessarily stomp on their human rights making contracting a disease a reasonable cause for dismissal. Haven’t you seen Tom Hanks in, was it(?), Philadelphia? That’s just the beginning. What if Madam sics a John on her whore and the whore says YUCK… is refusing to give blowjobs legal grounds for dismissal? It would be in your world.
H_d, raking in $300/hr is nothing to bat an eye at. See previous arguments on the cultural effects legalizing pussy may have on our women. I’d rather avoid the thought ever entering my daughter’s head let alone have our government sanction the lifestyle.
And H_d, dirty my hands, you fucking bitch… I used to BE one of those workers so I’m not talking out the side of my head here.
The reason they call it the oldest profession in the world is because it’s something women have done feeling they have nothing left to lose. I argue they do. You should too.
(I’m also willing to bet H_d is actually mcgayle too embarrassed to use her “real” name to engage in this debate with the likes of a kay.)
I don’t believe that you are one of those women kay. Like I said I have met many of them, and lived with a few. I am not anyone else but who I say I am. I really don’t care what your point of view is, my concern is you spreading bullshit as reality. You talk about addicts, not all ‘whores’ are addicts. Some of them even like the control over men that this profession has given them. If you really had to make your money on your back you would have way more compassion for this topic. If you really knew the statisics you would know that Madams and pimps are not always in the picture. A woman can sell herself for herself, because she chooses to.
H_d, by what logic do you assume I’m full of shit? The fact that I can spell? The fact that I’m sober? How about the fact that I’m alive to talk about it today? Yeah, I guess I’m real convincing. Listen, if you want to have a lively debate the words, “I really don’t care what your point of view is” ends it quick enough.
Happy whoring, pig. BTW.. that control over men you speak of exists whether or not you’re his whore *shakes head*
Kay, I don’t whore and never have I. That does not mean I don’t know what I’m talking about. I have worked with women, as well as addicts and have an understanding of where they come from. I say you’re full of shit because I have a brain, and I have read the crap that you spew on here (not just this thread) If you used to be a junkie whore then you know that once a junkie, always a junkie. You are no better now then you were, and you’re only a fix away from being back on the streets.
No one with any kind of education and sense would look at this issue and say that legalization would make things worse. You also know nothing of the laws that you speak of. You can’t change the laws just to suit your own view of the world. Trust me, better people then you have tried.
Your ignorance is out there for the world to see. I have read many posts, but have not bothered to respond to any before this because I find you laughable. This particular thread was different due to fact that you talked about turning out your own daughter, which I found very offensive.
You have no understanding of the law, NONE. You care not what anyone else has to say that may be accurate, but only in furthering your own agenda. You show your ignorance by resorting to name calling instead of backing up any of your opinions like a reasonable, educated person.
I can only say that I feel sorry for you and any one else who has to deal with you. You will never find enlightenment because you are too busy making sure that people know you’re right. Too bad you’re not, lol.
Life is learning, when you stop learning you stop living.
H_d you should really go back to school or stay enrolled.
H_d, quit the preachy talk you’re making us throw up.
H_d, I’ve read all of paragraph one and I’ll tell you, you have no business working with addicts…. ever.
I know if prostitution were legal I would have had no help out of it and one does require HELP out of it. If you work with addict whores then they too are finally getting the help they need as a result of prostitution being illegal in this country.
I’m a professional with a degree and a career. Addiction can happen to anybody and, actually, I have yet to meet someone not addicted to some kind of destructive behavior be it drinking, lying, gambling, ass picking, incessant bitching, what have you…
I noticed how you didn’t deny my accusation that you’re really mcgayle pretending to be LTTWB savvy and that would explain why your bullshit didn’t appear on this thread until now. Let me insert a healthy eye roll on behalf of all the bitches who frequent this site.
As for feeling sorry for me… you’re likely a fucking peon employee of mine so can it, asshole.
