Thousands of sentinent animals are being subjected to unimaginable pain and suffering so you can wolf down that pulled pork covered triple beef burger. Professing ones love for bacon and burgers is the new trend while this suffering goes unnoticed or worse, ignored. It makes me really sad and angry that people don’t give a shit about how that burger got on their plate. —Animal lover

I believe they are forced to dig snow until they have heart attacks. Dear sweet jesus, WTF is up with the blanket this morning?! I told the old man to bugger off but he’s pissed about you people still celebrating the crucifixion thing. Sorry all; I’ll have a chat with him later after coffee…
I am with you i support ending the animals suffering by slaughtering them and consuming them
There is a real issue here. It is true that thousands of sentient animals are being subjected to unimaginable pain and suffering but it has been this ever since the Neolithic Revolution when man first practiced agriculture and domesticated wild animals. However, the sad fact is that we are flesh-eaters and, no doubt, will continue to be so. Sad but true.
People die everyday and you chew chewing gum? How can you chew chewing gum at a time like this?
I am a proud member of PETA (People Eating Tasty Animals).
The decline of organized religion has given rise to a new era of quasi-religions. Their adherents have the same fervour, zeal, self-certainty, and “belief” in a set of dogma as their religious forebears. But now they have turned their attention and become, among others, vegan fundamentalists. Much like many in the traditional religions, the nouveau-fundamentalists cannot quietly practice their faith and feel they must publicly proclaim their own piousness and must proselytize to save the heathen non-believers among us.
Oh to be so holy, divine and pure!
^^^ In reality, I do try to keep my consumption of animals to a minimum. I think it’s clear that it’s better for your health to lean more towards a vegetarian diet and it’s definitely a more enviro choice. Red meat especially is resource intensive and has a higher enviro footprint.
That said, I don’t feel the need to convert others to my way of thinking. I give them credit for their own intelligence. And the last thing people need is someone pointing a disgusted finger at their food choices. That just makes them want to go out and find the biggest juiciest burger they can and wolf it down – just out of spite at being talked down to.
Salad week is coming up, stock up on vinagrettes.
Killing them & eating them OB ….is in my opinion better than eating them or starting to cook them, while they are still alive.
No-one really wants to know how the sausage is made….
but in a documentary they found that even when shown (graphically), people wouldn’t give up all the wonderful things the animals provided.
Seriously a good watch

Good point More, where are the ‘save the lobster from being boiled alive’ groups during Lobster Carnival?
Even your veggies scream when they are hauled from the earth by a massive machine. Their pitch is inaudible to the human ear.
Someone shove a bacon sandwich in OB’s mouth and shut him/her up.
Nothing washes down a tasty burger like a newly converted vegetarian’s tears. Delicious!!!
What is a sentinent animal? lets consider how pork is processed though, a bolt to the head and then slung up to bleed, which is instant death (when done ethically and properly). I guess you have a problem with hunters hunting for their meat…lots of times that isnt a clean kill and the animal you have to track for a bit to find it still clinging, then finish it off. then you get to dress the carcass in the field, chop up the tasty bits to transport back home 😀
*sentient*
im aware of the intended spelling MM, but seriously, OB is a moron. Protein is essential for life. If i want animal protein, be it dog, cat, horse, chicken and it tastes good with some seasoning, ill eat it. I dont want beans, i dont want salad..although, since animals we eat are often herbivores, im protecting the vegan weak knee’d crybaby’s source of protein!! they should be happy I am showing a level of care to protect their sustainability long term. God imagine the flatulence? Good old Hitler hisself was a die hard vegan who only liked mushed beans because he could barely chew…his doctor reports said he suffered from excruciating belly pain often due to flatulence ….EAT MEAT VEGANS!! save your belly!!
Right there with you OP. Everyone is against animal cruelty. Yet, magically this objection disappears when it’s time to chow down. It is an inconvenient truth to acknowledge that modern factory farming practices amount to a lifetime of suffering for the poor creature designated for the plate. Ethics smethics.
I don’t think people will give up meat on a mass scale any time soon. In the meantime, people like Dr.Temple Grandin, herself an autistic, can provide a lot of guidance on how to humanely handle our food animals.

I don’t think the OB is outright trying to convert anyone. They’re simply bringing up the point that people don’t know where their food comes from and ultimately could make better informed dietary decisions with more knowledge on the subject.
I moved to Ontario in the GTA area a few years ago and have stopped eating pork for the most part after a few unsettling experiences. Sitting in traffic or biking by the dozens and dozens of livestock trailers really made me feel for the animals (pigs) that are locked inside. However, I still eat cow. Only dirty old cheeseburgers though.
