Do you recall? I was walking down Young Street and crossing Kempt Road at the traffic lights. Your vehicle was the second or third – I don’t know, I didn’t look, I didn’t want to look, but I wasn’t deaf – in the right lane, waiting for your green light. The reason why I didn’t acknowledge your cheerfully repeated “hey” or “hello” was that I was perplexed and unsure, and then figured out that the most gentlemanly reaction was to show no reaction at all. Look, dear ladies, I assure you that I’m not the kind to assume anything as to why you did that. Just so you know, although I do love women (!), I wouldn’t even dream of acting likewise if the shoe were on the other foot.
