Hitchhiking in the snow by a parked car looking distressed was just a toothless meth head trying to score. I was thinking I was helping someone out who was broken down. When I caught her drift I asked her to please leave the car. She calls me an idiot! My heart bleeds for the diseased meth head. —D.R.

That happened to me once. I took here to where she wanted as it was on the way, she asked me to wait for her, I said yes, she left the car, I drove away…

Ha! Reminds me of one of my fave Dad stories. I grew up just past the end of nowhere. It’s not even a village. Everyone knows everyone. My dad was coming home from a meeting in the city around 8/9pm one evening and this woman flagged him down. She told him she’d been abused and left, so he put her in the car and brought her home to mom to figure out what to do with her while we waiting for the police/ ambulance. Yeah. He brought home the village whore who was well known for the exact story she gave dad. Apparently he’d just never heard it. Sad really, but my god we’ve had a lot of mileage out of “the time dad brought a hooker home to mom”. 🙂
