It’s bad enough when people get hit by a car—and I, myself, have recently been hit. But for someone to hit my dog with their car, and then to just continue to drive away, really makes me sick to my stomach. Whether it’s a person or an animal. It’s not OK to hit someone and drive off. How can a person sleep at night, or even live with themselves? I hope they rot in hell. -You’re lucky my dog is OK

Did you know that if your dog had done damage to the car, due to it not being in your ‘care and control’, you would be liable for the car repairs?
The driver should have stopped, but I can’t imagine any scenario where the dog would be in a position to get hit if the owner wasn’t letting them run loose (barring any dog being walked by an owner getting hit on a legit crossing at a crosswalk).
What type of dog was it and where was it hit? When a small dog hits a large vehicle, it is quite possible that the driver would be unaware of it. This has happened on a number of occasions when a semi has hit a person.
it doesn’t matter to me if the dog was running loose when he got hit. he got hit and the asshole drove off. that’s the bad part.
anyone of us could hit a dog or a deer or a cat or a squirrel while driving. its what you do afterwards.

Sooo…..it’s how the dog/cat/person/child ended up under the tire of the car that is the deciding factor on wether it’s ok to leave the scene of an accident? Hmmmmm…not sure ya’ll know what the fuck you’re talking about.
As a driver, it’s your JOB to know what’s going on around you, 360º with no exceptions or excuses. Every move you make should be calculated and executed with confidence. If you don’t see someone in your peripheral vision running after their dog, subsequently hitting their dog and drive away without a seconds thought for you or your dog, you’re either an idiot, or a douchebag. There is no excuse for either, or, anyone who defends you!!!!
