To the lady who had her adorable little black poodle puppy tied outside on Queen Street today Tuesday, May 5 at about 3:00pm. How dare you even think that it would be a good idea? You were inside eating and you left your little puppy tied to a light pole while it cried the whole time and you left a water dish out for it which was spilt. At one point your dog was even on the street still tied, and you came out and moved it to the pipe that is on the building…I wanted to slap you as I walked down the street. It was such a sad sight, please next time you want to go out for dinner leave the puppy at home, or someone like me might go to the next level and rescue your dog from you, you nasty dog owner!

Ahhh maybe I am missing something but other than initially having the dog tied too close to the street the owner wasn’t really doing anything wrong. Was it scorching or pouring out…no, was the dog leash tied so high that it was hanging it…not by your description. The reason the dog was crying was obviously because the owner was in sight and it just wanted to be closer, and wasn’t it’s present position better than crated at home alone?
What was the serious offense? I am curious because by your own description of events…you are over reacting.
I’m kinda with DER….depend’s on the circumstance i.e how long she left the dog there, but doesn’t seem to be a huge deal, I see it all the time.

What do people think dogs did before we invented centrally-heated homes? FFS stop whining…
My only problem with this pet owner, was that it was a puppy, not a grown, well adjusted adult dog. Puppies tend to get separation anxiety more acutely than grown up dogs. The owner should have done them both a favor and left the puppy home long enough to have a meal away from home. Just a thought.

Who indicated that it was actually a puppy? Just because its small does not mean it is young? Did you know how old the dog was??? didn’t think so
Separation anxiety. I’m thinking that’s the issue here. If the dog doesn’t have it, he will be quite content and confident that his owner will come back and not whine. Even if the dog was left at home, he’d still be whining for his owner. I think allowing a dog to continue to suffer from separation anxiety is rather cruel, myself, but actually taking the dog places, i.e. perhaps walking to the store and being active in the community, is a wonderful thing. A well-balanced, socialized dog can love both the walk and being tied to a tree in public without suffering.
The separate anxiety would have been far worse had it been home alone stuck in a crate. Just saying.

was it just a slice of pizza or a sit down with app, main, dessert, coffee?
I feel bad for the dog but don’t really know why at this point.
