This message is for the two assholes who thought it was so funny to sit there and openly mock a mentally ill gentleman sitting in the front seat. These two sat there and copied his movements… AND LAUGHED THEIR STUPID HEADS OFF… WHY DON’T WE DO SOMETHING TO YOU TWO, make you unable to control your actions, SIT THERE, laugh our asses off at you and see how you like it!!! And this is an open message to ANYONE who thinks that mental illness is a source of entertainment… IT’S NOT FUNNY AND EVENTUALLY SOMEONE WILL SAY SOMETHING. —A Voice for the Little Guy

  1. I really don’t like criticizing bitchers for what they did not do. Part of the cathartic effect of posting a bitch is dealing with how one could ,or should have responded but didn’t, for whatever reason. But in this case Someone COULD have said something to these pig-ignorant shitbirds. You could have said something. The “little guy” needs deeds, not just a voice.

  2. Your right it’s not funny, but you didn’t say anything, it’s find to feel bad but don’t go beating your chest if your not willing do something yourself.

  3. I’m in agreement with the previous posters ,the Admiral & Smile&wave…

but I personally find it humourous when you see bitches about the so called sane & retarded people & it reminds me of the photo of participation by mentally retarded in their olympics… & then people argue about it on the internet.

Get over yourself, chances are the individual being mocked never even noticed

  4. I hate when people do this! I especially hate when out I’ll be out in public or even at my work here (there is an organization in the building that deals with mentally ill people) and someone will start getting pissed off at someone who is clearly mentally ill…. I mean there are people who wander in to our office that we have to point in the right direction and some people here get so mad at them and actually say, “Can they not look at the signs?” Like they actually can’t figure out that these people have a mental illness? It makes me so mad.

  5. I realize that whatever moral high ground I may have gained with my first comment is going to be surrendered without a fight, but Mr. More’s link really did make me LOL.
Nil carborundum illegitimas, folks and have a great weekend. >: )

  6. i love my neighbourhood, so many kinds of people. shout out to the guy that sings really loud and jangles his keys, i think he works at the forum

  7. “Get over yourself, chances are the individual being mocked never even noticed”

That’s not the point, More. This PERSON was getting ridiculed in public for no fault of his own. NOONE should have that happen to them, regardless of whether they noticed/understood or not. Regardless of whether they were mentally ill or not, they’re still human fucking beings and deserve to be treated with some respect and dignity. Not to mention, nowhere in the OB’s bitch did they say that this person was mentally challenged or “retarded”, as you call them. They said they had a “mental illness”. This encompasses a very long list of disorders, diseases, injuries and conditions. Maybe he had Tourettes syndrome. Maybe he suffered from PTSD or OCD. Maybe they had Fetal Alcohol syndrome and had a mental illness associated with that. Maybe the person was not mentally ill at all and his movements were a result of a head injury or cerebral palsy. Don’t pigeon hole someone with a mental illness as being “retarded”. I’ve met people with very real, very debilitating mental illness and if you sat down next to them and had a convo, you’d never know the difference.
And even if he WAS mentally challenged, the fact remains that these 2 fucksticks were still mocking him in public for no reason other than he “moved funny”. Fuck them. No one should go around attaching stigma to people with mental illness. It’s a legitimate affliction and totally undeserved. OB, (or someone), SHOULD have spoken up. I would have.

Yo, Speak Up, little guy! Even if it’s only “shame on you” as you are leaving the bus. One of the things I decided to do as I matured is to not stand by and say nothing when I witness life’s injustices. As with bullying, those that watch and are silent are just as culpable as the bully-er.

  9. avasto, calm down, you’ll live longer.
Anyone with a shred, a tiny little scrap of common sense knows who the real mentally handicapped were on that bus & it certainly wasn’t the person suffering from PTSD, or OCD or even a birth defect/handicap.

So since you are insisting those type of people (aka mentally handicapped) shouldn’t be ‘picked on’ or ridiculed in public…we should allow for their obvious reduced mental capacity & not allow it to upset us …now go calm yourself , & get your blood pressure to lower !
    ~:)

  10. avast… you say that though there is merciless ridiculing all the damn time… both here AND out there in the big 3D world.

watching some McDonalds junky waddling down the sidewalk in her trucker hat covering scraggly hair, Expos ball jacket, and pink, muffin-top sweatpants with Juicy written across the ass… rainbow leg warmers tucked into rubber boots…

she’s going to be made fun of…
whether you want to believe it or not.

  11. I was trying to say hindsight is 20/20. Tell the clowns to shut up and mind their own business or don’t cry over spilled milk.

  12. zZz, I know it happens. I’m not so deluded to think that it doesn’t. I’ve witnessed it. I’ve had it happen to me. Hell, I bet damn near all of us have at one time or another. I’m not denying that it doesn’t exist. Still doesn’t make it right though. All I was driving at was that I didn’t agree with More’s comment that this man probably didn’t notice he was being mocked anyway. It’s not the point. Whether he knew or understood or not doesn’t make it any better. It shouldn’t have happened in the first place. And the fact that it did, should have prompted the OB or someone else to say something. I also tried to point out that just because the OB claims this person was “mentally ill” it doesn’t mean they are mentally challenged or handicapped or “retarded”. Unfortunately, the “retarded” stigma or the “crazy” stigma gets attached all to easily to mental illness. For all we know, this man could have been suffering from cerebral palsy or Parkinson’s, for example, neither of which is a mental illness.
Anyway, I appreciate your concern over my BP, More, but you needn’t worry yourself. I was fine to begin with and I’m fine now.

  13. Avast- you a fucking good dude.

    Let’s personalize this, using me.

Post-injury, in Toronto, after 2 years in the hospital, 35 surgeries, a broken back, a left leg gone, and a body that doesn’t look “normal”(being realistic), I was forced due to economic circumstances to live at Shaw and Dundas. Portugeuse Village. My bank and grocery up the syreet were in Little Italy.
From Day One I was stared at, watched old women tsktsk me and make the sign of the cross at the very sight of me. If I tried to make a Human Connection I was told “you crazy”, or “no speak English”(after hearing them speak English in the bank/grocery store.
I had women burst into tears at the sight of my disfigured torso, and endured horrified looks at where my leg had been, and a plain refusal to deal with me as a person.
After a year or so of this I closed into myself. I became the Town Leper. I would say “go fuck yourself” like a crazy person.
They had made me into a community forcal point and Fetish for the suffering of Jesus and all the Saints.
    I didn’t exist to them. I was a Thing.

After a year or so I either said fuck yourself or realized they were nuts, not me(I had so much to readjust to, and on an island of crazies, the sane guy thinks he’s the Crazy One).
To the casual observer, I was ignoring them.
To me, every tsktsk and objectification was another cut into my sense of Self.

So More, take it or leave it, but sometimes those that are constantly dehumanized and discounted stop reacting because doing so doesn’t help.

It was wrong for the dicks to mock this guy or gal. As Humans we should protect those of us that attacked unfairly.
It has nothing to do with Jesus or whatever, but fuck man, if you were in that situation you would agree to accept it, just because.

I’m not going to gross out the OB, because I wasn’t there, but we all owe each oter Human Kindness. I beliee it shows our character how we treat the lesser of us.

But what do I know. I’m the Town Leper, and the reason for the tears on Jesus’ cheeks.

    Paul

… must. resist. urge. to. comment….

vastie, you are an A fucking One guy. I’m in 10000% agreement.

Wheelie — fucking right they’re the crazies. So you’ve lost a leg? So you can’t walk? So fucking what! You’re awesome as all hell. And I’d say pretty fucking badass for surviving your accident.

Those ladies needed a punch in the box. Stupid old c-unts.

I dunno, I can’t fathom treating someone the way you were treated because you had an accident such as the one you did. I’d think the fact that you SURVIVED being hit by an 18 wheeler on a bike would be something to be celebrated! FFS. You’re like the goddamned energizer bunny, man.

  15. Doesn’t HRM transit have their own cops? something like this is serious enough to have transit authority show up and charge the guys for something like harassment.

  16. Good article pg, man’s best friend to the rescue, again 🙂
I can relate on a couple of levels, a pending medical release, divorice, and a couple of family deaths led to some very nasty depression and anxiety. Blue was a life saver, he wouldn’t let me just sit there (shit-faced). He pretty much dragged me out to play and go on some insanely long walks. Lol, talk about therapy and manna for the soul, it’s hard to stay sad when you’re in the middle of a forest, chasing squirrels.

  17. i have met so many amazing therapy dogs, it’s incredible how they help by just being there. don’t forget to change your clocks, or not

  18. Valid Bitch OP!! Good to hear a voice for the little Guy:) 🙂
Karma Police will have their asses!

  19. Okay so a few months ago this MI woman was trying to get off the bus with all her bags but the rude ignart folks kept climbing on though they know it is bus manners to wait til all the folks are off. The driver said nada.Of course.

This sadly escalated the woman who was now visibly angry and I wanted to assist her but knew with her MI this may be problematic so I witnessed the unfolding…. then started the scolding

She finally go off the bus but not before the very obnoxious woman started laughing at her then started laughing with the driver. I sat there in shock then disgust as the driver started talking about this MI woman and where he picked her up.

The driver and this rude woman were having a grand ole time gossiping until I lost it……I was sitting in the middle of the bus fighting with the woman in front who then had a groupie sitting at the back of the bus-they tagteamed me but they were no match….

I am sure the fact they were both black and me and MI were both white didnot play a role…This entire time dumbfeck driver said nada yet he created the fecking mess by not telling folks to wait and by gossiping …..anyway the yelling that went on was outrageous and I reported it to the supervisor and I believe he took the matter very seriously.

So while I appreciate this bitch….please next time call them out in real time… nothing like a great scream match on the bus to start your day….lol….oh yeah the rude black woman got off the bus after I said my piece/peace………was it something I said…..LMAO….

anyway to all the cowards who sat there and let it happen shame on you too…

  20. MI? She’s from Michigan?
Seriously I’m glad mcgaidheal that you stood up and defended this lady and the bus driver was reported. No race doesn’t play a role here, it doesn’t need to be brought up. If they’re an idiot, they’re an idiot.
