It is NOT okay (or witty) for you and your friends to drive by, yelling at me, (a complete stranger), calling me names such as “red dressed bitch” and threatening to run me over with your car. I have no idea who any of you are and hope you all realize how socially unacceptable what you did was. I don’t want to have to be uncomfortable walking in Halifax now, wondering if I will be harassed by strangers again. I hope karma reaches you all and teaches you a lesson. —Red Dressed Girl

  1. Unless “karma” is the brand name of a stylish new line of 9mm lady-automatic, I fear your invocation is for naught.
Unless “karma” is the brand name of a new line of flavoured vodka that will hasten these young bucks to wrap their ride around an oak tree and become the mack daddies of the colostomy-bag crowd, I don’t think karmic justice is in the offing.

Threatening to run you over is probably a criminal act and no doubt you were too shocked by the aberrant behaviour to get make, model and license number. It’s undertsandable.

I’m truly sorry this happened to you because it shouldn’t happen to anybody. I hope there is no “next time” but if there is, please, get the details and report them to the police. Leave karma out of the equation, altogether.
    Stay safe.

  2. What compels the ignoramuses of society to project their own stupidity into the universe?

  3. 1- there’s no such thing as “karma”.
2- they broke the law. Appealing to their sense of shame won’t make a difference. Get their license plate and a witness next time, and go to the police. That behaviour is not cool and they deserve a legal kick in the nards.

  4. License Plate + Phone (even dial 911 on a payphone if you don’t have a cell or a quarter) + Police will get you some satisfaction. Guaranteed.

  5. were they girls?

Sounds like a car of fatties yelling at random cuties.

If they were guys, they were trying to get your attention. THIS is their best strategy for getting laid and, since it obviously doesn’t work, they’re getting stupider.

    Take it as a compliment.

  6. Catcalls from a car of young males is nothing unusual but the running you over part is simply bizarre.

  7. People have been doing this to my cat for years every time she goes out.

  8. It was a car full of guys and girls although the only one yelling at me was one girl. I wish I had gotten their license plate, although I was too confused/in shock. I have been catcalled before, and this was definitely not anything of that sorts (seeing as I was being threatened.) I just hope that this does not happen to anyone else.

  9. Pack mentality m-meow. Nice though to see that women have acheived equality in the arena of abject stupidity. Not really.
    ..and what Ivan…er Ethan said.

  10. The girl was probably ugly, fat and miserable. All the guys in the car were checking you out and she felt threatened.

    Take it as a compliment.

  11. And i don’t care if people think that’s “rude”. It’s honest. Ugly girls or girls with low self esteem do this kind of nonsense all the time. Because if they don’t, they have to sit there in humiliated silence while their boyfriend or crush checks out greener pastures.

Life’s hard. Darwinism is a bitch. Deal with it.

Wear your red dress more often op. It obviously calls attention to your appearance.

  12. I’ve seen plenty of girls wearing red dresses. I think they look great and its a sure sign of summer. Keep on looking fantastic and try to ignore the few idiots out there who have nothing better to do with their few remaining brain cells than yell out of car windows
