This goes out to the group of kids (I would hardly call you teens, let alone adults) on Creighton Street yesterday who saw me biking in the rain and threw a basketball at me and laughed when it hit my tire and almost spun me out.
I am more shaken than I am angry at you, you attacked me for no reason and for no gain. Maybe you don’t know yet that your pack mentality will not get you far in the real world, I hope you grow the fuck up before karma comes back around. Best of luck to you if you decide to keep pulling stunts like that, I’m sure I’ll be seeing you within the statistics of north end violence soon when you mess with someone with an even bigger group of friends.
You want to fight something? Fight to be an individual and not succumb to the stupidity of being a follower in a gang that lashes out with childish actions. I hope you don’t think you are entitled to mess with people because of the strength you find in numbers, you will learn the hard way soon enough. —Girl on the red bike

glad you’re okay, i have a bike riding friend who was biffed in the melon with a pumpkin…knocked him right off his trusty steed. it was a group of little shits
i’m so sick of morons. glad you’re ok
They can’t gentrify that neighbourhood quick enough.
Picking on bike riders Huh? Is it just me or do the Junior League crips and bloods in this city make the gangs from “West Side Story” look like….a bunch of dancers?
and the dreaded karma rears its ugly head yet again.
we don’t need karma… we need phobos to scare the living shit outta these kids just before hades starts fissuring the ground and dragging some of these fuckers down with him.
I agree with you Dr Fever…they’re probably the people who spray paint “STOP BUILDING CONDOS” all over the place.
And I’m pretty sure what they did is some kind of assault isn’t it? I would have called the cops and watch them cry when their mom’s ground them and take away their Xbox.
melectric— No, the people that put “STOP BUILDING CONDOS” are the people who think it’s hip to live in a squalid hellhole while they go to NSCAD. They’re scared that they’ll have to live in a unhip place like Clayton Park.
The kids that toss shit probably can’t spell building, let alone condo.
Driving by balling? Stupid punks will get what’s coming to them.
This is probably true!
Dr. Fever, I love that my neighbourhood has such a reputation, it keeps jackasses like you away from our beloved community. This “squalid hellhole” as you call it, contains some great people with great ideas. We are not all hood rats, or NSCAD students…for instance…I have just finished my masters degree in Physics…..so next time…before you open the mouth of yours to put down an area, or group of people (whom we not initially mentioned) perhaps you should examine your own life choices, as im sensing some jealousy and envy in you. Get Bent.
Your Friend
(soon to be an actual Doctor unlike you)
Duke
Yes, and just like your beloved community, it’s full of criminals and arrogant assholes just like yourself. How’s the view from Oceanview? I’d think it’s nice, if it weren’t for the bedbugs, rats and roaches.
As to the jealousy point: I’d rather live in Fall River than live with a bunch of smelly hippies/meth addicts surrounding me. Your neighbourhood has a reputation indeed.
“soon to be a doctor (unlike you)”
Yes. In the way Stephen Colbert is a “doctor”.
Formula 401 baby!
Karma’s not going to do anything until the next lifetime. And you could have stopped, grabbed the ball and biked away with it. One time I had a ball thrown at me. It hit me, I picked it up, took out my pocket knife, made a few incisions and left it for the brats to reclaim.
my friend started chasing them down the street, realized he couldn’t catch them and it was dark. he figured it was better to worry about the bike
Nice goin fat has the right idea. Take their basketball and those little savages will have to go steal another basketball, hopefully being caught in the process.
paingirl, that’s not the greatest idea for your friend. I grew up on a rez and can tell you first hand that for every 10 brats out in the open there’s probably 20 others in the darkness (at night) that’ll come out of nowhere.
Cant we all just get along and shoot these peckerwoods? (and 9 times out of 10 their creators as well)
that’s what i told him, but it had dawned on him as he tried to run in the darkness…i get hit with shite i just keep on going
Creighton Street? Hasn’t that been fenced off yet?
shit mod. 4.0, my comment got pulled, i thought it was okay. i didn’t actually say someone should knock the places down. i just said the city should do it, and then the bit about the rats and dope dealers having to move to better areas. what the hell was wrong with that.i also didn’t say the “n” word, that everyone is so fucking afraid to utter, let alone think. what is this world coming to, when little shit head fucking punks can dictate what i can say or think. i am disappointed here today.
I’ve got a great idea… Why don’t we just import some Jamaican gangsters from Kingston and let them run loose in the area. That will work better than any gentrification.
OP: Don’t worry, life will exact revenge for you. These little shits won’t amount to anything anyway. They’ll end up on welfare, living the dream, just like their parents before them and their grandparents before that and so on. And pay no attention to Mr Dukesexsmith because his neighbourHOOD really IS a squallid hellhole filled with deliquents, drug addicts, wannabe gangsters and teenage mothers. There are some good, intelligent and hard working people mixed in with the rest of the scum, but they are few and far between. I truly feel sorry for them because they are living in a neighbourHOOD that refuses to turn itself around and make improvements.
Sorry LS, I don’t mean to disappoint but is it really surprising that got tagged as a violation when the whole ‘hood was being painted in a negative light?
Besides, if there’s a problem in certain neighbourhoods it’s usually a symptom of a greater problem. Moving things around won’t do much to effect real change… IMO.
Pulling things is not my goal here, but sometimes they just have to go. Tell me why you think that’s wrong if you will, but I’ll be watching the wee play soccer for a few hours and won’t be back ’round these parts ’til later…
You should’ve broken the ball.
Mod 4.0 is a little too delicate for their own good.
There are good people over there, OP…there are good people just about everywhere.
THere are also bad &/or others who will take advantage there & everywhere else.
That just seems to be one of those things in life & that sucks…but what really sucks is when the good people around a particular problem place, don’t do anything constructive to change it. Because if there’s a problem, & your not involved with attempting to fix the problem, your part of the problem.
That of course is just my opinion.
yes, a delicate flower…
…one that lures and traps it’s prey.
🙂
gee mod., you’re getting me all goose pimply. and excited too. hmmm, traps it’s prey, do you have handcuffs and stuff, i’ll bring the gorilla suit.
Speaking as a female who grew up in Halfax, I found it WAY the hell creepier walking through south end Halifax late at night than I EVER did walking home through the noth end. Walking past a few drunken frat boys makes me alot more nervous than walking past a few gangstas- atleast they tend to keep their trouble to themselves….as opposed to beating random, unprovoking guys or sexually assaulting random, unprovoking females.
And yeah, bad things happen everywhere! When I was 14, my 3 friends and I were swarmed and beaten by a gang of 7 or 8 white girls we didn’y know, for no reason whatsoever- while walking down LUCKNOW Street (south end)
Gentrifying hipster in the North End alert on this Bitch! Though I bet OP would deny it until their face turned blue. You know, the same types who claim to hate gentrification, but are actually the main drviers behind it. Creighton Street has really been cleaned up a lot lately, though. I just hate those fucking self-righteous NSCAD hippies! One good thing about Edmonton is that the few who are here are mainly frowned upon.
Z, those girls who swarmed your friends were probably white trash living in the youth group home on Tower Road. They’ve always had problems with that place.
Mod 4.0 is a bit soft, especially for a Bitch board! Only in Halifax, eh?
yes q., she might be a tad soft, but we love her anyway, right gang.
Bulldoze city housing and forcibly move the dregs to Shannon Park, make it a ghetto.
Fuckin – A Lifey. She’s a good sheila and not at all stuck up.
Really? I don’t think I’m really a softy, I just save the shit kickin’ for when it’s actually necessary. Frig, I already have an ulcer, I don’t think I need to approach moderation like I’m frontline infantry… 🙂
Thanks for the love peeps.
I was wondering how long it would take for the debonair and unfailing Suckage-Of-Life to offer up his studly services to the new Mod…hehehehe! Such a cute trait Lifers:)
QPm, I’m no hippie beatnik. They annoy me too! But I did live on creighton street- and I’ve lived in the south and west ends too- all over Halifax while I was there. I grew up on a quiet south end street and every time I walked home late at night I’d be nervous. Just speaking from my personal experience. And those girls who swarmed my friends and I were from Gorsebrook (wrong spelling I know) and Cornwallis. One I remember- her dad was a doctor. I know because we charged them.
I’ve lived in south end for 6 years before moving out a little farther… and I never had any trouble.
tres bizarre…
I used to watch movies on a portable dvd player at 4 am walking to macdonalds and nobody ever said boo.
Call Ken Fells, he’ll sort them out; if they are skinny white kids weighing less than 120 lbs.
I hear he has plenty of time on his hands for the next while.
I live in the North and I certainly get nervous walking around here at night. I was eye-fucked by some weird old man…he was standing on the sidewalk, staring at me and as I walked by he turned around to keep watching me so I jogged away. I love the South end because there always seems to be people out and about, mostly university drunkards but still, having people around makes me feel better. I still don’t really fear for my life or anything walking around the North, just get a little nervous.
