I know this sounds simple but I was tired, really tired and off to band practice, thinking I still had 5 more minutes I was going to drink my coffee as fast as I could and then hop on the bus. The bus showed up early and I had to put down my coffee which I was only two sips into! You noticed this and told me that you didn’t want to see coffee go to waste and that I was allowed to go grab my coffee and drink it on the bus! Mad love and respect to you sir! I thoroughly enjoyed drinking my coffee on the bus and I hope good karma finds you! Also a note to other bus drivers: I did not spill a drop of coffee on the bus and I strongly feel the no drink rule should be revisited. Thanks again! —A Happy Customer

was it a dishy redhead or a dishy greyhead?
OP you may not have but, other people will, imagine if you will someone with a flimsy Tim Horton’s/Starbuck’s/etc cup and look someone bumps you or the bus makes a abrupt stop there goes your coffee all over the bus and other people around you! Good job!
I think it’s really shitty that you obviously just laid a full coffee on the ground without putting it in the garbage. There is 99.999999% of the time a garbage next to a bus stop… if you went back for it, it obviously wasn’t in one.
lol humans seem to have a disorder when it comes to throwing out coffee cups, PF, especially full ones.
That driver must have really liked the look of you OP, I wouldn’t have risked it if I were him, and I would have been pissed it I were riding with you and you spilled some on me, especially if I was going to a job interview or something. So good on you for thanking him for taking that risk for you, he could have had a situation on his hands. I think spill proof mugs should be aloud on the bus, but not Paper cups, they would inevitably be left all over the bus and stink it up.
Alright, let’s revisit the issue. Next time you have coffee in a disposable cup, tilt the cup towards your face and give it a good hard shake. This simulates a “OMG some idiot ran 2 feet in front of the bus and he’ll die if I don’t hit the brakes hard!” situation. If you aren’t in the mood to sue someone over the burns you have no doubt received, then we’ll revisit the issue.
You can get spillproof mugs at Tims for $15, and I’ll bet even cheaper at other places. Small price to pay for guaranteed coffee bliss.
BITCH I SAT IN THAT COFFEE! I -WILL- find you.
Hay PDG — what is MT’s official rationalization for not allowing coffee cups/fast food drink cups with soda in it on the bus?
I’ve never actually ridden another transit system that disallowed food/drinks like MT…. So I’m genuinely curious. I used to see this guy on the bus in Ottawa eating KFC out of the bucket on a regular basis!
I honestly don’t know PK, I’d guess something about messes and weird puddles, but really, if it isn’t a hot beverage, I don’t really care if it’s on my bus.
So, if I see you driving the bus I don’t have to hide my mcdonalds cup or SB frapp in a bag?
*awesome*
^_^
“mcdonalds cup” … “SB Frapp” …. sure….
you’re sipping a bit o” the ol” sneaky pete, ain’t ya?
NYers are notorious jerks and they have a beer booth you can head to in Grand Central to snag a tallboy… and drink freely on any route.
Well. My father *is* from Lakeside… and I *have* been told I’m my father’s daughter….
YOU CAUGHT ME OH NOES!
Oh I caught you alright….
