Stop acting like you have no knowledge of hair products sold at the drugstore. I know you’re probably making commission off what you’re selling, but would it be too much to ask of you to pick up on my non-verbal cues that this is irritating. I’m not spending $30+ on a haircut to hear you hate on Shoppers or Lawtons.

I always find it hilarious when my “stylist” aka fucking HAIRDRESSER feels the need to insult me because I don’t get a $60 haircut every 6 weeks. i work for an hourly wage, im not rich and my hair is quite healthy and grows out of cuts very nicely, so yeah, i get the $60 ones instead of the $14 at First Choice, but I go every 4 or 6 months or so, less if i feel like it looks good the way it is. even 4 months after my last haircut, I’m still getting compliments on how nice it looks.so stop acting like my hair is in an abusive relationship and you’re concerned for it’s safety. I also get berated for using drug-store formulas which are, in general, the EXACT same thing as salon. I was treated like my hair was tragic because i don’t feel the need for highlights. sorry, but i like th natural highlights in my hair, and wouldn’t risk ruining that for fake-ass chunky white-blonde streaks that i would have to maintain every few weeks.We pay you stupid bitches to CUT OUR FUCKING HAIR, so come to your 8 hour shift, do just that whilst shutting the fuck up, then go to the Palace like you know you’re dying to, and dispense hair advice there, to the sort of people who are on your level. wait, who are we kidding, how many “stylists” can read, let alone actually follow a weekly publication.
That’s funny. Why would they tell you to buy something cheaper at a local drugstore , they work at the salon so they try and sell their products.If you went in to Future shop to buy something , the sales clerk wouldn’t tell you, you can buy the same thing cheaper at Best Buy down the street now would he/she.If they did they wouldn’t have a job long that’s for sure.Little do you know that most hairstylists really believe in the products they sell , and if you think that the products they sell over the counter at a drugstore for a couple of bucks is the same as what they sell at the salon then your mistaken.They were probably hating on the drugstore products because they know a little more about the products then you do and are warning you that maybe it isn’t the best choice for your hair.And Anony you sound like an idiot for calling all stylists dumb , they can’t read c’mon how old are you 12 ? My wife is a stylist and loves what she does. She is a very smart women and is great at what she does. Which is alot harder then most people think. Oh yeah and she doesn’t spend any time at the Palace.
Then hey, send me her card. I’ve had the misfortune of always getting some over-done barbie-wannabe under 25. I’m sure your wife is great at her job, and is the polar opposite of who I am referring to, as well as a very nice lady. But do you mean to tell me she’s never complained about the sudden boom of young girls infiltrating her career, which at one point took a lot of skill and dedication and a certain customer service-driven attitude? I used to love going to the salon with my mother as a kid because the hairdresser were sweet and chatty and they talked about general ways t keep your hair healthy. I have no problem with a woman attempting to sell to me as a part of her job description. however, i do not appreciate being treated like an unhygienic waif when i politely decline. I am sure there are many exceptions to my post, but most of my stylists have been downright rude and pushy about it and give unsolicited advice to inspire insecurity to make your bill higher. And the most frequent question i am asked while in the chair is #1-“What highschool did you go to?” and then get to hear them prattle on about the popular people they knew there, and #2- “what bars do you go to?”. hence the Palace comment. sorry if i offended you KMB, but I’m a bitch. that’s why I’m here.
For anyone without the luck of having naturally- perfect hair, drug store brand shampoos flat-out suck! I’ve tried most of the drugstore brands- they’re all crap- Tresemme, Fructis, Dove, Herbal Essences- they all make my hair flat. Although they do encourage customers to buy their products, the products most salons carry are usually very good quality. And a GOOD stylist knows what he or she is talking about- so if you don’t have any respect for them, ‘anony,’ why dont you take a pair of sissors and cut your own damn hair. Another thing ‘anony’, if such dumb, low-level Palace types are cutting your hair, I wonder what that says about your taste in stylists…and hairdos!!!! You sound like such a snot,

well me myself i am a hairstylist and i would never make a client feel bad because they are not using professional shampoo or cond because of the cost, b4 i was a stylist i want paying $30 for it. Although I will inform them of the diffrences between the 2 drugstore shampoo is mainly wax so when i am cutting your hair wax is flying everywhere, Also people think that they have dandruff but its the wax flaking off but thats not in ALL drugstore shampoo’s mainly panteen pro-V
