Are they OCPD? I worked with an OCPD person before and it was annoying as heck. The coworker was actually my subordinate but somehow believed that he/she was the boss. It took my HR director, CEO (whom I answered to), and a board member to tell her that I was the manager and he/she STILL thought I answered to him/her.
It got to a point where he/she was trying to grade my work and overrule my decisions that I had to reign them in a little. And they hated me for that. But really, OP, they could be OCPD. Nothing ever satisfies those people.
I understand you completely OP! I have someone like this at my office! It drives me insane! It’s like I can’t do anything without them right there with a new set of rules they dreamed up about every fucking thing, and they never make any sense. When you try to point out flaws in their logic, they just ignore you and keep saying the same shit. Arg. I totally feel you <3.

I don’t know when this started exactly but, in the last few years Ive noticed newbies seemingly becoming experts at everything and seemingly self entitled to critique things that you’re doing that they have 0 % idea of what they are talking about; like stfu you moron. I remember starting out in the business and keeping MOUTH SHUT and eyes and ears open not the other way around holy fuck
