I get paid to smile no matter how bitchy you are. But I just wanted to let you know that you are all horrible people. Just because I am behind the counter, just because it’s my job to help you does not mean I am your inferior, you do not have the right to treat me like an ungrateful slave. This is what I’ve obvserved about you people this past year:
Women above forty tend to be bitchy, except when my male co-worker is around.
Men in their twenties tend to be assholes, flirting and smiling until they realize they can’t get exactly what they want right away, no matter how handsome they think they are.
Anyone under 20 completely ignores you even when you say ‘hello’ politely and clearly.
Thank god for all the nice polite people that come to the counter or I’d snap every time one of you assholes did something rude. Like shove papers in my face while I’m on the phone helping another customer. Or reach behind the counter. Or throw an entitled fit every time you fail to read the fucking signs plastered all over the walls.

As somebody way past 40, I do my best to be pleasant – it doesn’t take much effort but for some people, it seems as impossible a task as pulling asshairs out with their teeth. You really should consider finding another line of work.

I don’t think she needs a new job, I’ve been a server in a few different hotels/ resorts and you’d think people would be happier being away and all, but no.
When I used to get home from work, I just needed to VENT and complain, which always made me feel better. (Also made whoever was listen usually laugh) But I did feel better, and at the end of the day, I enjoyed my job. – Wouldn’t life be boring without the public anyway?
im surprised more people in the serivce industry dont snap and kill people on a daily basis. reading all the gripes from people about rude customers it really does seem halifax is one rude ass place.
but as ttfn said, maybe it is time to start looking for something else if you cant tolerate the assholes any longer. for now grin and bear it till you find that job that has you walled in and isolated so you dont have to fake it.

I agree lovely lady. That reminds me of this past Valentine’s Day. We had customers at the restaurant I work at complaining about the food taking a while because we were so busy. What the fuck did they EXPECT? I don’t know why some of them felt the need to be so bitchy! They had the fucking day/night off! If anyone should have been bitchy it should have been us WORKERS, after all it was us running around stressed and slaving away to make these fuckers happy!
