Thank you for not caring about your jobs enough to bother checking my senior/child/whatever isn’t full-price ticket I bought from the kiosks. I think you get more money from snacks anyways? I’ll make sure to keep buying the popcorn. —Broke ass movie buff

Checking your ticket for WHAT?
And yes, all the net profit from the candy counter goes to the theater, (property taxes, employee wage, keeping the lights on, etc). The price of your ticket goes to the production house (universal, paramount, etc).
what on earth are you trying to say op? did you buy a ticket and pay too much but didn’t notice and now are unhappy that someone who tears the ticket stub didn’t notice either and alert you to the fact?

There is Three basic pieces of Bolded information on a Ticket:
1) The name of the Movie
2) The Rating
3) The Theater number
The ticket ripper sees the name, assesses the customer for approprate viewing and directs to you the theater.
I’m sure if someone who wasn’t a senior, who bought a senior priced ticket, would have no problem getting passed the ticket ripper. Every. Single. Time.
I haven’t payed the adult price of a ticket since the kiosk’s were first placed in the lobby. js

ok, I get it now. so you are cheating on the ticket. doesn’t that bother you? what if you got ‘caught’? would you be embarrassed? shamed? no? why can some people do this and others just can’t? it’s crossed my mind from time to time over my life when I have been called a ‘weenie’ for not doing something like that but I just can’t. how do you justify it op? sticking it to the man? your “civil right” to go to the movies?
isn’t there a tiny part of you that is ashamed? (maybe you could get a part time job there so you could see movies for free)
