PEDESTRIANS DO EXIST HERE, TOO! I’m not asking for perfection… just a little more awareness! It’s pretty irritating to stand at a CROSSWALK for ten frickin’ minutes because nobody will stop for 60 seconds. Yeesh!

i always have the same problem.i guess drivers don’t have 2 minutes out of their time to stop for someone to cross.sad really…..

I’m just curious how you were identifying them as from the Valley. I’m from the Valley, and I don’t have anyhing that says so on my car. And I drive like a sensible person.
I’d say the OP was talking about incidents that occured in the Valley.

I for one am totally sick of all these pedestrian bitches!! Halifax and Nova Scotia in general is probably the most pedestrian friendly places in the WORLD!! After having lived abroad for a few years and arriving back here, I was amazed at the level of courtesy I encountered on the streets from motorists. However, after driving for a few days I quickly realized it was a one way street! Rarely if ever do I see pedestrian’s actually look before they cross and then they get all in a huff if some poor motorist doesn’t see them right away. If half of the pedestrian’s in this city moved to any other place in world, they’d be killed in a less than an hour.
Take some FUCKING responsibility for your well being. I don’t care what the rules are, if you want to cross make sure it’s SAFE! If you look and assume that people might not stop you’ll have no problems! But if you assume, that as a PRDESTRIAN that you always have the right away your going to keep running into the same problems and everyone is going to have to keep hearing your tired and much repeated bitches about how awful drivers in this city are. Suck up princess; it’s not always about what is technically right it about keeping YOURSELF safe!
Yep driving on Sackville Dr today by Nothing Fancy and some stupid bitch crosses with traffic coming from both directions while pushing a USS Enterprise sized baby stroller, then she get caught u on a curb. Excellent parenting.

The police are quick enough to ticket drivers involved in a cross walk infraction, but I don’t recall hearing of any jaywalkers getting ticketed? And as we live in such a nanny state you just know there’s a by-law that would cover this – probably passed by city council in an in camera meeting without disclosure.

I DO respect drivers and obey the laws. I’m not some maniac that runs out into the street because it’s a crosswalk, I stand and WAIT, hence the bitch about it. You’re an idiot, period. By the way, it IS the law that pedestrians DO ALWAYS have the right of way at ANY intersection!
