So sick of people thinking the world revolves around them just because they are in a car and I am on foot. I only cross at marked crosswalks when the crosswalk light indicates I may (not just a green light). Several times I have been nearly hit from people trying to speed through the intersection before I cross their path. Also, an in particular FUCK YOU to the driver who saw me crossing the cross walk and decided to try speed around the corner, nearly hitting me, when I turned around to look and try and understand just what the fuck you were doing you started yelling AT ME. you PARKED your car on a BUSY FAST LANE in order to bitch me out for getting in your way when I had started crossing before you even put your foot on the fucking gas. Needless to say you are an absolute jerk who needs to remember the world does not revolve around you. —Sick of nearly getting hit

  1. Sounds like someone jealous they don’t have a car. Stay in your fucking bike lane and not the road.

  2. Ah… it’s that time of year again where we get a sudden influx of horrible, beginner drivers in a completely new (to them) city…
Queue the loud, obnoxious frosh week bitches in 3….2….

  3. I take issue with the bubble-headed idiot pedestrians who can’t keep their eyes off their fucking cell phones. Let Darwin’s Law take care of those tunnel-visioned little twits.

  4. I LOVE the air of entitlement that comes with car ownership. After all, you spent $10-$12K (approx.) for the damn thing, let alone having to fuel it, insure it, maintain it and repair it.

According to the Canadian Automobile Association’s Driving Costs Calculator, a Honda Civic driven for 20,000 km/year costs $8,681/year ON TOP OF your lease/payment. These include fuel, insurance, license/registration and depreciation/maintenance.

I suggest this: borrow the $10K and invest it into safe mutual fund. Take what you spend on fuel, insurance, etc and add that as payment to your debt. In a year, your investment will appreciate, not depreciate.

How will you get around? Bike. Walk. Bus. These costs will be less than $1,000; rent a car once in awhile when you really need one and that increases to less than $2,000.

There! I have saved you at least $6,681 and in only the time it took me to type!

  5. That’s not practical Jesus, unless you live in one of the 3 major cities of Canada, bus transportation is a joke.

  6. No worries! Spend your hard-earned, excessively-taxed dollars on an albatross if you wish. Personally, I’ll be watching my money grow instead of burning it up and allowing it to rust away. Did I mention that I travel 4 times a year?

  7. WTF is a “BUSY FAST LANE”, and why were you walking out into one without making sure it was clear to do so? You sound preachy and annoying!!!

  8. So sick of people thinking the world revolves around them just because they are on foot and I am in a car! I only drive through intersections when the light turns green or when it’s my turn. Several times I have nearly had a pedestrian walk into the front of my car, trying to speed across a crosswalk when they didn’t have the right of way! See where I’m going with this, OB?

  9. The folks in cars can be self righteous because they have cars; me….as a weekday pedestrian/weekend driver can be self righteous because I’m not 75lbs overweight, as is most of the suburban drivers that almost hit me on my commute. These drivers couldn’t walk to change the channel let alone the 5km to work that I do. Yeah…my glare as they almost hit me is ‘my body is better than yours’…..
