I still pay the same price for the same crap and yet I’ve lost maybe 8-10 channels… I called and asked about this and you said that I still gotta pay the same price because it’s part of a bundle… I asked about digital and you said it was a few bucks more… I said fine… I’ll think about it. A week later I get a notice in the mail that there’s a parcel waiting for me… I think “WTF”???? Go outta my way to the post office and find out it is for a digital box that I NEVER requested. I’m glad some people still pay for cable so I still get shows to download and watch when it’s convenient for me.
don’tja just love didgetal cable. i loved looking at those choppy little blocks when i had it. now i go all net based t.v., and no commercials either. when they had the old analog signal, it was strong and constant, but with this new progressive shit that they sucked everyone into getting, the least little weather inversion fucks it up.
yep, bring back the analog, and everyone, including moi, will be as happy as a pig in shit, or someone’s ass.
i just grabbed a strong internet connection and got rid of tv. Watching what you want when you want commercial free is a great thing
I cut my cable off too, but I miss my sports. We’re the only people who still actually have a reason to have cable. Yes I know you can stream games but the quality makes me not even want to sit through it.
The issue isn’t switching from analog to digital, it’s that they took away channels. My parents have encountered similar situations with their satellite service where they lost some channels because the service provider decided to mess around with the bundles.
Come hang out with mee! I get free cable. Bleu Nuit et all. I thought I had free ‘basic cable’ but it turns out it’s more than that.. from like channel 2 up to 118 or whatever :D!

The question here is what happened to “Frozen Planet” Sunday night? They advertised it on CTV as starting at nine on the Discovery Channel, episode two of eight. I saw episode one the previous Sunday and was really looking forward the second installment. Instead I get “Gold Rush”, part of a “Gold Rush” marathon running all night. I go to the Discovery Canada website and they have “Frozen Planet” starting at 10:00 P.M. Atlantic. Okay, maybe the TV programmer is wrong, wouldn’t be the first time. Ten rolls around and voila… still more “Gold Rush”. I was unhappy and went to bed.
What’s the point of advertising stuff if you’re not going to show it? Sheesh!

Its true the only thing i miss is sports but im a big NBA fan thats all i like. I dont get any games anyway, next year for 70 dollars a year im getting league pass and i get to watch every single game all season long with no issues at all.

Did you read the fine print Brandon? NBA league pass doesn’t include nationally televised games. You didn’t think the networks were going to let that revenue go that easy did you? They know that the only draw they have left is live events, mainly sports. You can just pay 25 bucks a month during basketball season for the super sports pack if you have eastlink, in addition to what you already pay those grifters.
Let me know if you find a cheaper way to do it. I know you can stream games for free but I need good quality. I don’t think league pass is really worth it, just get NBA TV Canada for like 2 or 3 bucks a month, between that and the other sports networks there’s a at least half decent game on every night, and a lot of nights there are a few on. It used to be a lot harder to be a basketball fan around here, you could never get the second game of the late night double header, but now that they added TSN 2 and Sportsnet 1 I can’t complain too much. I don’t have cable either currently, missing out on some big games, pissin me off.
One of the first things I want to do when I own my own place is get an American Satellite dish. Can’t stand Canadian TV.
I’m poor, so I moved to Basic Cable ($24.42 + $2 for “Digital” + $8.95 for HDTV) and the Basic Internet ($29.95).
Grand Total is $65.32 + Tax, so $75.12
The internet is slow – less than 200K/sec, but hardly the end of the world. The channel selection is small – less than 30 HD Channels, but other than sports or movies (and for some reason FOX) I get everything I’d want to watch, in HD.
Not too bad of a deal for rapists like Eastfink.
