I can’t stand that my mother feels the need to gamble all the fucking time. She complains about their lack of money but continues to gamble and now I have absolutely no sympathey for her.I’ve tried to talk to her countless times to go get help or to even take what I’m saying seriously, but she doesn’t listen. Not only that, but she also has the nerve to talk to me about what I should be doing with my money….not impressed.

  1. Your mom is looking for ‘the big one’, like all gamblers. She really needs help but until she admits she has a problem, you’re gonna have to suck it up in the meantime. I’ve seen too many lives ruined by the blind belief that the Holy Grail of Cash is right around the corner.

  2. if she;s playing the machines, then she’s not gambling.
she’s investing in VERY expensive entertainment.
if she’s playing actual live cards with and/or against people, THEN maybe she’s gambling….
hope she’s good or your portion of her will won’t be anything stunning.

You’ve got to be fucking kidding me right?

  4. I think zZz meant that “gambling” implies a chance of winning – VLT players never win.

good luck. hopfully she will read this bitch and realize what an idiot she is being. have you explained to her that casinos are profitable because of repeat gamblers? even if she wins she’ll spend her winnings trying to find that high again. it’s the one time first loonie ever dropped into a slot machine winners who make gambling seem romantic. what you should do is check out that web site.

  6. i think because its also advertised as “for entertainment” that VLT’s are an expensive pasttime.

i was once addicted to gambling, mostly vlt’s. i didnt spend tens of thousands, but i spent what i had. i figure thats the definition of addiction. ask any gambler if they are down money. 99% of them will say no. that is the problem. same as any other addiction. as TTFN said, she had to admit she has an issue with gambling. until she does this OP, you might just have to hold on to that sympathy a little longer. she does not want to be doing what she does. i know i didnt.

  7. I’m glad some of you caught it…
(s)he’s pushing a button for a predetermined outcome.
why would anyone think it’s easy money?
They are programmed to take in more than they pay out… obviously.
And I’m sorry, but if that isn’t obvious than you need to be wearing a helmet.
