To the cab driver who took the time out of his day on Saturday to stop and help the anti-Scientology protesters on Dutch Village Road. Thank you so much for sticking up for us. Calling the cops and giving your statement when my fellow protester was punched in the face was inspiring. We were devastated to learn what Scientology has done to your family. We hope one day to thank you personally; people like you are the reason why we protest. <3

Anti-scientology protest in Halifax? Where?
@Anton Near the Scientology place at Dutch Village Road, but yours is not a dumb question because sometimes they protest downtown Halifax or in Dartmouth. Those places have more foot traffic.
I love the fact that this might make the paper…Anton is a perfect example of needing to get the message out about Scientology. Great job anons.

Anton: Anti-Scientology protesters aren’t against anyone’s beliefs…. but the criminal practices of a greedy cult, that’s operating right here in Halifax. And from the post up top, it sounds like they’re breaking up families right here in HRM too. I think the OP was trying to be cute, as they hangout on whyweprotest dot net. Anton: The Leader of Scientology David Miscavige is alleged to beat his staff. They are accused of abusing religious visa legislation to engage in human trafficking for the purpose of forced labor. There are many deaths linked to scientology, including Lisa MacPherson. Most important, the Church of Scientology was convicted of attempting to infiltrate the Canadian government (the Ontario Provincial Police) in the 1980s.
– Convicted of spying against and infiltrating the United States, Canada and Greece.
– Wrongful deaths
– Fraud to the tune of billions of dollars, illegal practice of medicine, and withholding medical treatment
– Violently attacking protesters, journalists, and former members
– Family disconnection, Fair Game, etc.
That’s just the tip of the iceberg. It is not a church, but more of a cross between a cult and a totalitarian movement.
Some laugh at their beliefs about aliens, but that’s not really what this is about.

This is what I read and based my opinion on this. Sounds like they went out looking to provoke a fight. And they got one. Regardless of his age or interest in the punk scene, Anon sounds like a tool. If you want people to take your protests seriously, then grow up.

@miles – don’t confuse the excitement of the moment with ‘punk kids’ trying to start trouble. These types of assaults and attempted provocations by members of scientology have occurred at protests all over the world. Any excitement these people felt, I think was because of the ‘gotcha’ feeling. These people have been trying to establish that this behavior is a regular occurrence for some time. It’s only natural for them to feel pleased with the result. Why don’t you go have a look at one of the local protests sometime, see if you still feel that they’re ‘looking for trouble’.
i was walking by as the lady was being arrested and i must say i am 100% for the protestors they are not punks they are educated well dressed indviduals who are actually fighting for what they belive is right insted of just talking about it unlike many many many others they are doing something and to thoes lazy assed mo fos who want to hate on them well go back to your cheese burgers and porn i think they miss you.
