To all the teachers: don’t go along with the latest contract offer. You’re being sold down the river by your own executive and if you go along with it then you’ll just end up taking every other public sector worker with you. This government is a sack of poison laying waste to everything it touches. Have no further dealings with them except through arbitration. —I hate the Liberal government

I didn’t vote for this Liberal government but I will be next time. FINALLY a government who stands up to the greedy NSTU. Remember your NDP buddies in government took 10M out of education but gave the teachers an 8% raise so the teachers never said a word about classroom problems. I LOVE The Liberal government and everyone who knows a pig at the trough when they see one loves them too.
I tend to have left leanings and pro-union but we also need to live within our means. The Conservatives talk a good game but cut taxes for their corporate friends and spend very liberally to buy rural voters so we are no further ahead. The NDP Dexter government (that I helped elect) was a disappointment for many reasons. Everyone wanted the Liberals to settle with the teachers without writing the NSTU a blank cheque so I guess that may work out. But they tripped coming out of the gates with their mishandling of the film subsidies.
It’s hard to know who to vote for next time.
I have read and re-read the original post and the two previous comment writers several times and I have one (1) question -WHAT THE FUCK?
You obviously didn’t work for an NDP government which I did, me bucko. Next election, my checkmark will be next to McNeil’s name. Frank mag’s exposure of those greedy educators via publication of their inflated salaries put paid to that sentiment.
After 20+ voting in NDP, I voted this time around. I don’t know that I could ever align myself with the PC party. The NDP finally got their opportunity and squandered it like a bag of candy. McNeil’s personality doesn’t always come across as amicable but his policies and Leadership have only done the province well. My advice to the Liberals is simple: don’t fuck up.
