is thinking about hitting the Nocturne thing tonight but the key is not to drink too much before hand. Some of the artsy types might mistaken my drunken slowness for some bullshit like I’m a “republican” or something like that. I could end up thrown into an argument while next to an artpiece and actually “become” part of that art piece while they laugh and take pictures. No harm in it until one of them recognize me on the street a year later, associate me with their daddy issues and turn me into who knows what social “artpiece” —Been through similar things before SOBER let alone drunk

  1. Nocturne is a yearly get together sponsored by the coffee shops of HRM to pick and choose their next crop of Baristas, NSCAD are heavily favoured to place first, second and third in the “it’s art innit?” category.

  2. TRANSUBSTANTIATION?

“I could end up thrown into an argument while next to an art piece and actually ‘become’ part of that art piece while they laugh and take pictures.” Been through similar things before SOBER let alone when drunk

This “becoming” a part of that art piece is reminiscent of the Catholic dogma of transubstantiation wherein the bread and wine actually “become” the body and blood of Christ and not merely, as with the Protestants, “consubstantiation” where the bread and wine co-exist alongside with, but are not identical to, the body and blood of Christ.

When you became part of that art piece while in the Nocturne, were you making what might be seen as a theological point albeit in a secular surrounding? Very interesting.

    A pleasure as always.

    Cheerio!

  3. gee, I don’t get slow when I get drunk, I get really fast.

at least until I hit the bottom of the stairs.
