I was stuck on Argyle street after a big snowfall, my friend was so kind that she tried to push me out, but the strength of a young lady wasn’t enough. Two wonderful gentlemen helped push my car out of a foot of water and slush. They got soaked and didn’t even care. Thank you so much. You saved my night. I hope you enjoyed a beer, on me.

I never understood that…you women have a pain tolerance level that triples (or more) what men can handle.
Some women act like stubbing a toe is equal to death but then they can squeeze a basket ball out of their whoohoo. What’s up with that?
for me giving birth was like ok thats my top pain…everything else meh not so much…i am not a girly girl
DER: They give birthing women drugs, nerve blocks or local anesthetic. Those who opt for natural childbirth are hollering as much or more than toe-stubbing women.
I think the gender based notion of women being more pain tolerant is a myth. Having worked in the tattoo/piercing industry I saw contradictions to this myth all the time. There was one woman who yipped and yelled her way through a wee flower tattoo while a fellow getting a large back tattoo regularly slept through his sessions. Go figure!
yes oceanlady and another myth is that all mothers are nurturing…i didn’t get any drugs during the mayhem. so anyone who has a low pain tolerance-take the sweet nectar

I had no drugs, and I wasn’t screaming. They actually wanted to send me home when I came in because they said quote “you’re too happy”. It wasn’t until after they checked me that they realized that I was further along then they thought.
Oh, and no pain killers after birth either. And it wasn’t because I’m some macho chick that wanted to prove to everyone that I could handle it, it honestly just wasn’t as bad as what some had described to me, and I don’t like taking drugs if I don’t have to.
And for the record, there was also no screaming for my tattoo. I was actually, once again, pleasantly surprised.
Point in closing: Guys can be just as weak and whiny as girls, and vice versa.

Precisely the point I was making 1fallingangel1, that everyone’s individual pain threshold is different, male or female. Congratulations on your amazing childbirth. You are one of the lucky ones with a high pain threshold. It’s different for every woman. Among pain suffers there are complainers and there are stoics. As a stoic, I gave birth with little complaint and no nerve blocks. Other women were more vocal. Just as every pregnancy is different, so is each woman’s pain coping skills.

What I don’t get is that it’s usually woman who tend to complain about the cold more even though they have more body fat than men. Shouldn’t that make us guys feel the cold more than they do in most cases? Not always a bad thing though because I can offer to warm them up… hehe.
