The talk about banning smoking in apartment buildings makes my fucking blood boil. It is my residence and I will do what the fuck I want, especially to the tune of $850 bucks a month. I am so goddamn sick and tired of you non-smoking cunts dictating my life. If cigarettes are that fucking evil, then lobby the government to make them illegal. Until then, fuck off to you and the non-smoking horse you rode in on.

A Smoker

  1. Its getting ridiculous. For years the government collected obscene amounts of taxes from smokers, Now its not cool.I’m not a smoker, but hey guess what will happen when noone smokes! Where will the government get tax dollars then? What happens when some bean counter decides that gas fumes are costing the health system? or fast food? All the people who are so insistent that government tell people where to smoke, get ready , rest assured that there will be a habit of yours in the crosshairs soon.I can understand regulation for public areas that people may have no choice but to go, ;and I’m NOT going to argue whether smoking is bad for you ; anyplace else, I can make up my own damn mind.Govt stop telling me what I can and can’t do in private.

  2. If people stop smokeing they will have disposible money to spend on other goods that governemnt collects sales tax on. So gov’t may be out some money, but not as much as you amy think, unless all smokers then save the money they use to by smokes with.

  3. saying that an apartment you rent is like saying you own a hooker’s tits. you don’t, you’re renting it from someone else for a short time. someone else is going to have to use it after you, and it’d be nice not to have to deal with the shit that went on while you had it.

  4. yeah, typos are a bitch, first sentence should read “saying you own an apartment you rent is like saying you own a hooker’s tits.”

  5. The next target will be fast food. In Britain, they are thinking of adding additional tax on what is considered unhealthy food. Now that’s a tax I could live with.

  6. T.A Nice analogy hehe I think then its up to the building owner to advertise the apartment as non smoking. Like a hotel, I can get a non smoking room or a smoking room. The point is , it should be up to the individual and the building owner to decide not government legislation.

  7. I agree that the smoking nazis have gone too far. What a bunch of whackjobs! T.A. All responsible landlords are required to clean up and apartment, paint, and shampoo carpets after one tenant moves and before a new tenant moves in. It’s a cost of doing business. That takes care of any residual smoking odors. It’s amazing how the nazis make shit up to advance their crusade du jour.

  8. Agreed..Until the sales of cigarettes are illegal no more new smoking rules/laws. And until then everyone can shut the fuck up about smoking. And what is with dictating what can or cannot be done in the privacy of ones own home. The Government regulates peoples lives way too much, enough already.

  9. bj, i wouldn’t be talking about making shit up if i were you. from your remarks you’re obviously a smoker, and in my experience smokers are less likely to be bothered by the smell. i’ve lived in more than one apartment/house where the landlord has painted, and washed everything, and it still reeked. it takes a lot more than just a coat of paint and some pine-sol to get rid of that stench.
