Booooo…..VS absolutely RUINED the Seahorse. One thing you could always count on at the Horse was no cover charge, and also, great tunes (if you like rock music).Go downtown to shoot pool, play shuffleboard and listen to an entire CD was the way they used to roll there. Now there is a cover charge which is blasphemy and usually a mediocre cover band playing away.It’s almost like VS wanted to make a faux-grungy bar for the snooty Shoe patrons when they decide they’re going to slum it downstairs. In the process destroying the atmosphere of one of Halifax’s oldest pubs for the punters that used to drink there.I have envisioned hell on Earth to be a place where all the bars and restaurants are owned by VS.
I used to go to the Seahorse 20, 25 years ago. I remember how they used to play entire albums. Yes, albums. On vinyl. And if you brought in some obscure indie or import stuff, or a demo from a local band, they’d play that too. I went back there about a year ago. How did it go so horribly, horribly wrong?What’s VS?
