I agree, I work with the public and some of them are just pricks, and others are just adorable.

i really think you people are being a trite self-centered here.yes,the elderly may have their annoying ways from time to time.but far more annoying are some younger people who have no respect or values.i have far more issues with young punk assholes than i could ever have with seniors.we all have are own annoyances.but i think wishing a heart attack or a wheeled cane on a senior proves my point.you remember doncha?the one about no respect or values.deal with it and stop your whining.

You cannot put an age on ignorance. I have worked in the food industry and currently work in retail and each day I see seniors treat young people like they are dirt beneath their feet, but I also see teenagers, children, business people and middle-aged blue collar workers who are just as rude. Each day I see all ages demand discounts and special treatment. I see all ages push in line and argue about checkouts being slow and having to wait for others,then they hold up a line for ten minutes trying to make exact change in pennies. I have had to listen to many seniors lecture me and friends about how we are lazy and how we don’t know what real work is, but then I have all ages treat me like I am less of a person because I am working retail; if they could only see I am being responsible and trying to pay my bills instead of flipping the bill to my parents. I also know seniors who should not have their license, but I also know of those who should. There are thousands of teenagers that think drving and racing is cool, but don’t realize the power they possess when behind the wheel;meanwhile, there are adults that get behind the wheel and cut others off because they are late or have road rage. Some people are selfish: they believe they deserve everything and everyone should treat them like royalty and serve them at the speed of light. Don’t cringe when you see a senior; you don’t like to be stereotyped as a thief because you’re young and in a store. Treat all ages as equals until they prove they are unworthy of your respect.

The seniors of today are from a different time. Back in the day, during the Depression for example, you could go out with five cents and come home with a meal. My grandmother grew up in this and even though she was the child, she worked every day and tried to make ends meet. In any case, a dollar then could get you a lot more, but was a lot harder to come by. This kind of thinking is hard to erase. Maybe if you went through something like that you’d have a different opinion. And yes, we are supposed to show them respect, get over it. Maybe you should crack open the history books, and possibly not look like such an idiot.

There are assholes on both sides of the fence. Here’s 2 instances of this. 1. My friend and I are walking home from the bar drunk and stoned out of our minds and come across a group of 10 younger guys and we were just walking along minding our own business when they sucker punched us. Got out of it more or less okay but this skewed my vision of the young people from this generation. 2. Just this weekend I was visiting a friends place with a few of my friends. We parked the car in the apartment parking and walked in. Not 10 minutes later we get a call that were in someones parking lot and we need to move. We got ready within 5 minutes and were out the door ready to go. Wasn’t the tenant parked directly behind my car so I could NOT move it? An older woman probably in her mid 30’s- 40’s opened her window and told us, ” When I see strange cars parked in the driveway I call the tenants because they pay for parking.” At which point I said I was sorry for parking there but told her that there was no signs indicating it was tenant parking only and that it was pretty ridiculous that this tenant had parked his car right behind mine when I had full intention of moving it anyways. Then in comes “Leatherskin”. This old surly bastard who looks like he smokes 20 cigars a day came out so we confronted him. I told him, “don’t you think this is a bit much? We came out to move the car for you after realizing we made a mistake and now we can’t get out.” He then said something to the effect of, ” Well I pay for this parking and you have no right to park there.” We pointed out we couldn’t move so we couldn’t leave his spot. He then told us to ” move your fucking car!” So there you are, there are assholes old and young, you just have to watch out for them.
