The Scene
Why is our music scene an exclusive club of pretentious hipster tools? Last time I checked, the music scene was about music, and not the fashion and friends that come with it. No one honestly cares about whether or not you know a few songs by some random

wonderfully put!Here Here!!!
Video killed the radio star and all that.
Were they talented or could you not get past their self expression (in dress) long enough to notice? There has been a hell of lot of good music produced over the last 50 yrs and it has evolved constantly from Elvis to long-haired freaky pot-smoking hippies (I loved them one and all) to disco babies and everything in between. The only scene that stagnated was more or less the country and western music scene. I’ll bet you’re a fan.
shut up banjon….
why does everyone always talk about rock and indy music as if its the only music out there. Fuck that. THere is so much more out there than the garbage they have in the Coast (what the fuck was with last weeks expose on folk and indy?…BARF!) and MUCH MUSIC and all the total shit they play on the radio. The funny thing is that these Hipsters think that they are at the cutting edge of music and style. They are not!! I love Halifax and would never think of leaving, but for some one who hates rock guitars and whiney male singing, this music scene fucking sucks. I am glad there is the internet because without it I would have nothing to listen to.P.S. Banjon, you really smell and get on my nerves
hahahaha! again, excellent post. indie kids are funny
Im going to pretend i didnt read that and sing myself to sleep
I hear that. The so called “scene” in Halifax is a joke. It’s like the same losers live at Gus’s pub. You suck and your ugly go home.
to each his own. i don’t consider myself a hipster but I do enjoy my non-mainstream music. i spend quite a bit a time looking up new artists because it’s the only alternative to what is provided on local radio or television. im tired of hearing the same chord progressions and chorus after chorus. don’t get me started on the state of country music which has been stagnant for eons. if it wasn’t for the internet and it’s countless music sources, i would have no doubt moved out of this small city to a great music center like montreal where you get a real taste of what music can and should be.
Listen to Weird Al! 😀 He teases all genres, and with their permission, too!
