But goddammit do you ever notice how sometimes when you’re driving you’ll stop to let someone cross the street, and the person stands at the crosswalk staring at you until you come to a COMPLETE stop? Like what the fuck are you looking at? I’m clearly slowing down, you can start walking you pussy.
Then the opposite, people that press the button at the crosswalk and instantly start walking without even checking for traffic. So annoying! Just because you press the button doesn’t mean it’s safe to dart out in the street.

I don’t know about you OB…but the ones who wait for you to come to a stop, are IMO a bit smarter than the ones who dart out.
I agree with your second point Sport, but as far as the first one goes – I’ll be buggered if I’m going to trust your intentions at crosswalk or intersection until you have come to a full fucking stop. Same with STOP signs. They aren’t called SLOW DOWN signs, now are they?

You’ve clearly not been a pedestrian for a long time; otherwise you would see the sense in waiting until motorists come to a complete stop. Either way, calm the fuck down and wait for five seconds.
but o.p., sometimes the slowing driver, thinks it’s okay to creep ahead. or just doesn’t really give a fuck, if you get bumped or not.
this has happened to me. on more than one occasion. the people driving, think that you are gonna wait for them to stop, not run blindly out into the crosswalk.

I almost mowed someone over this morning who approached the crosswalk hit the light button and kept on trucking. There was no hesitation on her part to ensure traffic had stopped completely before she stepped out into the street.
News flash people: the button for the crosswalk lights does not make cars come to a dead stop when you push it. Push the button, check the traffic, if safe then go. Really, its quite simple.
sometimes it’s really hard to tell if cars are actually stopping or if they’re going to do something else. i don’t really see the utility of lambasting pedestrians who are being careful. they are making your job as a driver easier. think of it that way.
A lot of the times when the crosswalk is at an intersection it’s impossible to tell if the driver is slowing down to turn or slowing down to stop and let you cross, I’ve started walking when I thought the driver was slowing down for me only to have them keep driving through while I was in the crosswalk.
I have a counter bitch for you OP, fuck all you drivers who get impatient when I’m trying to decide if it’s safe to cross or not, I’ve been yelled at, honked at, and flipped off by impatient drivers. Excuse me for not trusting your intentions, depth perception, or brakes with my life. Also, drivers that clearly see you waiting to cross but just sail on through avoiding eye contact anyway because they’re in a hurry or are too lazy to stop. I don’t know which is worse.

It’s more of the latter…..but the good news is if they step into the street without provided sufficient stopping distance for the vehicle, and the person gets hit, the pedestrian gets charged! Woohoo 🙂 Just pray they aren’t a fat fuck or you’ll have to take them to small claims to cover the damage they do to your vehicle.

Um, I’ll wait for a ton or two of metal to completely stop before stepping in front of it. Too many times a person foot slips off the brake to the gas. I like life a wee too much and I’ve seen the results of metal vs flesh and blood. Flesh and blood loses everytime.

On Wyse road, there’s quite a few that speed up while approaching the crosswalk, while wildly gesturing that I should cross. This is pretty fucking confusing :s

You’re right. This bitch was kind of stupid! When 1100kgs of steel are travelling at 60 mph and I have to walk in front of it I tend to err on the side of caution. Not even considering that the driver may be distracted by cell phones, passengers or the radio.
You are obviously an imbecile. On one side you want them to cross fast and on the other to make sure you already saw them. So, what about if they send you an email or a tweet before they cross?
