Maybe if you have a problem with dogs in off leash areas running up to you because you are so uncomfortable with dogs… DON’T GO IN OFF LEASH AREAS!!. There are so few fucking places people can take their dogs in this city, maybe you can stick to the vast majority of the park where dogs can barely exist without a million by-laws.

I think the issue is that dog owners seem to think any area is an off leash park. I personally avoid off leash dog parks but still have been chased and bitten by dogs off leash in the city neighborhoods. Maybe if dog owners tried using a leash when they are not in an off leash park people wouldn’t be so upset. Also, off leash parks are fine, but if you are truly concerned about getting your dog some exercise, try walking them or going for a run with them instead of passively standing or sitting around while your dog terrorizes other people.
There should be a fenced dog run in every neighbourhood …. and then we should eliminate off-leash parks entirely. Anyone seen with a dog off-leash outside the fenced areas would be tasered and their dog confiscated. That would solve the problem for everyone.
An off leash park doesn’t mean a dog can do whatever the hell it wants. The owner still needs to control it.

I tried to take my dog on focused trainin walks. The biggest obstacle was other dog owners 25 foot leashes that have no control over their dogs. I can only imagine what it is like when the dogs are off leash
