Where does one start? With this so called party for the poor stating while in opposition, they believed that VLTs were evil and draining the poor unwashed of their money. Now they want online gambling?

Let’s not forget the HST and power rate increases that affect the poor more than the rich. Also didn’t they give themselves some sort of backdoor raise. Then instead of stopping the idiotic prosecution of a certain tobacconist, they continue to waste money on a product that is almost as dangerous as alcohol which they (government) allow to be advertised and allow children in stores where the product is there for all to see. I can go on but you all get the drift. —How Could So Many Be So Stupid

  1. They haven’t been a worker’s party in years. The tax increases and not standing up to NSP are just more stabs in the back. Maybe I’ll vote Liberal next time, or maybe I won’t vote at all.

  2. The party of university students and big labor has FUCK ALL to do with the poor or those who actually work for a living. We are nothing but pawns at election time, a source of tax revenue and a target for “re-education”; their condescension is as offensive as the open contempt of the liberals and conservatives. Fuck em all.

  3. Definitley, time for a NEW New Democratic Party. It is not all their fault though, they have fallen into a series of Tory traps in their naiveté.

Most of them have grown too “middle class”. Darrel demonstrated he was out of touch long before he became premier when he drove the strippers out of downtown Darmouth. That was bad. That was all we had for decades here. Now Portland street is deader than ever. Portland Landing (The Angels) and the Billy Club (The Police) across the street used to be a hive of activity from Thursday to Sunday.

Now it is a ghost town where you can’t even buy a pack of smokes. We are a port city of history, a navy town dammit.

  4. What pisses me off is that these orange cunts have 59 communications officers who each (with the exception of 2) earn over $70,000 to come up with press releases. Now that’s where you should start cutting costs.

  5. They will, pobody. Power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely – to use a well-worn phrase. I’ve watched local and provincial politics for over 30 years, seen ’em in as rookies, leave as jaded arrogant bastards who may or may not be employable afterwards. Two things happen in politics – you age like Rod Taylor’s been diddling with a time machine and carry enough double chins to justify a Toledo scale. I remember being a young, enthusiatic NDPer in the early & mid-70s and hoped for the best. They delivered the worst. I would vote for Gus the Turtle’s turd before I’d ever vote for any of the 3 major parties. Don’t even get me started on HRM’s ‘Pet Rock’ City Council.

  6. When you only have a choice among the bad, the worse, the worst, and the “I have no idea what it is”, that’s not a choice.

  7. “pet rock city council” haha, i remember those feckin things…dumb and useless. nono the rocks are useful, i can throw them^^^

  8. Did somebody ring the dinner bell?

I can smell the “red meat” cooking 500 miles away.
