To the three cops standing around like high school bullies outside a building on Gottingen late last night: What is the deal with you guys? You were shining a light into a woman’s face taunting her and being overly condescending until she went back into her apartment. After that you proceeded to shine your flashlight up into the windows of the apartment and make super immature noises as though you were imitating a mentally handicapped person. If that wasn’t shitty enough one of you actually said (loudly) “That’s how we treat our retards around here!!” and then laughed about it with all your buddies. C’mon son. Are you serious? Are these the people we’re supposed to entrust with our safety? It’s scary how many cops I’ve met in Halifax that just want to talk down to you until you’re afraid of them. It doesn’t go unnoticed. what the fuck else d you expect from some of these goof offs. not all are lazy, loud mouthed ignorant assholes, but some are. seems if they put a badge and gun on, they get this euphoric air of being superior to everyone else. they forget that a kick to the nots will still bring them down. and very few if any, wear a cup.
they have those cute lil vests to protect them, but they forgot to cover the head too. and maybe that is part of their problem, they are to hot in those vests. i had one on awhie back, for some reason i won’t go into, but they get fucking hot, they are fairly light, but warm.

I don’t care what you say…anyone who has the desire to control other people, who want to intimidate & order others around. They have a mental problem.
They have issues…it may not be as bad as a psycho or as impaired as some downs syndrome people are…but there is definately a mental problem with these types of people.

They aren’t so tough when they aren’t all decked out and in groups. Thank God they are taking the retards off the streets, THEY can really cause shit. Meanwhile stickups abound, swarmings abound, drunk drivers everywhere… FFS this stuff is amazing. I know 3 or 4 cops and they are all personable when out of uniform. Must be the soap.
I’m with Bro Tim….. get on the phone, call dispatch and inform them that some of our “protectors and servers” are serving up some very threatening behavior. Fuck, if we can’t trust our own law enforcement officers enough to go to them with any problems where the hell is our civilization heading?
In fact, I would assume that this would be ONE of those times whereby you could actually approach them and ask their names. If they asked why, you can simply tell them you were very unappreciative of their behavior and were calling the tattle on them. They’d either stop in shame to think about how stupid they were or they’d give you a hard time. Either way, you’d still have something on them to make a complaint.

Gimme a fucking break. I was on the way home late at night and it wasn’t my first inclination to grille the officers for their badge numbers (mainly because I was so bewildered by what was happening in the first place and also because these types don’t generally respond well to that kind of thing.)
But beyond that, forgive me if filing a complaint to the same police who committed the act in the first place seems a little backwards. I’ve tried to go through the process before and it always feels like you’re going nowhere quick with it.
It’s no secret that Halifax police routinely overstep their boundaries and anyone living here and paying attention would see that. By no means do I intend to drag all cops down with this but it’s impossible to ignore the police who frequently abuse their power just to put people in their place. It gets old quickly.

stay close enough to watch, record, and listen to them, take a video, and then lay complaint at the head honcho, don’t go thru the cop shop. go to the top, kelly’s office. and if no reply or outcome within 7 days, go to media. that’s about the best i can do for you.
watch your step after reporting, because a lot of shit can follow you for years to come, i know, trust me on that.

I used to live in Dartmouth & I once came home to my wife (ex wife now) loaded drunk smashing up our place. I was at the end of my rope with this person & that night I said , fuck this…I’m calling the cops.
Well those wonderful coc#$^(#&@$ come to my home, I’m standing in the drive way…you can hear dishes breaking in the house, I tell them my wifes on a drunken rampage, I just got off work & I want her out of the house.
They go to the door, she answers, loaded screaming I’m a cheater, I’m any bad thing you can think of & I hit her.
Those cops, come back down into the drive way & tell me “You are under arrest” I ask them what for. “Assault they same , we take a strong stance on domestic violence” … I’m floored , what are you fucking talking about, look at her, there’s not a mark on her, look at me, no scratches, no marks on my hands, nothing.
They arrest me, put me in a van, take me to the lock up & charge me with impaired as well! No breathalyser done to me & i’m charged with impaired !
W T F – Impaired I haven’t had a drink of alcohol in DAYS, my fucking drunken wife is smashing the shit out of our home & i’m in jail for being impaired !
As soon as I got out I went directly to my doctors office, explained what had happened & had blood drawn & they did blood work. I got a lawyer to go after the police, & fight the charges against me…. oh, Mr More- those charges against you have been dropped !

Don’t people get it? Men are always wrong and women can do nothing wrong. Very few situations would I consider calling Halifax police. Maybe if I saw a really drunk driver, that’s about it. You’re better off just defending yourself and not telling the police.
More, I thought they couldn’t “drop” these charges once filed, so what excuse did they use? except lack of evidence. What nimrods!

I believe the arresting officer(s) didn’t actually file charges.
The overnight lock up sheet had me down as arrested for impaired. But I had proof that there was no trace of alcohol in my blood. Even though I was arrested around 11 pm & was at the doctors for around 8ish, & she took a blood sample, if I had been drinking the night before, there would be evidence of that in my blood.
My exwife ended up also being arrested after I was taken away. She assaulted an officer who attempted to enter the house.
When I came home the next day, the place was a shambles, broken glass everywhere, the fridge had been open all night, most of the contents was on the floor. Phone was smashed, photos in frames were destroyed. The inner french door had several broken panes wher eit looked like a body had fallen ass first into the lower part of the door
The only good thing I have to say about the pigs that night ,is at least they locked the front door when they carted that drunken bitch off to jail.

Or they did you a favour by getting you out of there. Nowhere did you state they abused you or treated you bad (except for arresting you) and it sounds as if they didn’t even handcuff you or you neglected to say.

I told them I haven’t done anything wrong & lets go for the easy way.
I also wasn’t put in the drunk tank with several others, but put in a cell by myself. I was photographed & fingerprinted, but there was no breathalyser & I even asked to take one. I was also let out just before 6am, because I told an officer who came by every 1/2 hour or so (I’m not sure how long it was…it was quite often though) That I had an important day at work that next day.
It still bothers me that police will arrest a person, who is sober & they surely have some idea how to tell . From what was obviously a screaming lunatic…which was basicly how my wife was behaving.
FYI the worst her P.I. ever caught me doing wrong (& it wasn’t anything) was I used to played crib on Thursday nights. Sometimes my ‘partner’ was a female. but that was luck of the draw for ‘crib night’ at that bar…not cheating ! But I guess not in the mind of a drunken psycho.
