I’m absolutely sick of the lack of taste and colour in our oatmeal regime. I’m worried that Canada will ooze into a flaky, pasty Fascist oatmeal-ism, Scottish-style, based on my experiences this year in Halifax. Lack of looks, lack of hilarity, lack of tunefulness, and lack of reading ability worry me particularly. What happens when a little Mr. McHitler is launched from some old @!$% into our schools and bakeries, and becomes the Dry Cherry on the top of our Oatmeal regime?

For more info on my bitch, see http://organiccarrot.blogspot.com/2005/05/oatmeal-regime.html which has nothing to do with this. Thank you.

  1. Bahaha…fascist oatmeal.

I can picture the Quaker man speaking to me now:

“Hey…don’t you go for that muffin Dino…I’m warnin ya! HEY! GET BACK OVER HERE AND EAT ME MOTHERFUCKER!!”

  2. Oatmeal is a great breakfast. It really could be worse, it could be Cream of Wheat. Now that’s fascist, or racist, given the mascot on the box.

  3. Dr. Fever – are you suggesting that a black person couldn’t possibly be a food professional, because that’s all I see when looking at the logo. Same goes for the logo on a particular brand of pancake mix and syrup, she looks like a mother who’d serve her family the same products.

People need to stop crying racism at every little thing.

  4. Actually, voice, your reasoning is the same reasoning that redneck Americans use to defend the Confederate Flag as not being a symbol of racism or slavery. All I’m saying is that those two mascots/logos were at one point actually quite racist. Anyways, it’s off topic.

  5. Oatmeal is not just a great breakfast, it’s also a fantastic mid-afternoon snack.

On the other hand, if you find yourself at you friendly neighborhood McDonald’s, avoid the McHitler (it gave me gas). Best to stick with the tried and true, like the Chicken McStalins, or the Filet-o-Mussolini.

  6. Porridge/Oatmeal is also great when it gets cold, you can make a patty out of it and fry it using butter or margarine – Then you pour Tate and Lyle’s Golden Syrup over it – can you hear your arteries squeeeeeeling?????
