When I pulled into the gas station yesterday, a truck arrived at the same time–he signaled me to go first.

When I was waiting to pull out of the gas station, a car stopped and signaled me to pull into the lane.

And, when I stopped at the traffic light, a different car pulled up beside me to tell me that I had forgot to put my gas cap on.

Three separate, considerate acts in the space of ten minutes!

It meant a lot to me, because when I first moved to Halifax 25 years ago, I was thrill with how considerate and generous the people were in traffic. Everyone worked together. I told people, Halifax is the biggest, small town in Canada (due to their values, courtesy and friendliness). I haven’t said this for some time.

Yesterday made me remember why I loved Halifax in the first place. Thank you.

  1. A truck driver once signalled my sister with flailing arms to pull over, and informed her that her licence plate was about to fall off.
Alarmed, she pulls over, only to see her plate about 7mm higher on the left than the right. Fully secured.
Irrelevant, but your Love reminded me of that. Props to considerate people!
