What the HELL was that about in the Chronically Horrid today? There will be no investigation of the RCMP officer (Jeremy Frenette) who killed a distraught man in his own home in 2008? This cop was in contravention of RCMP policy, he was ordered by his superior not to approach the house. HE DID SO ANYWAY! He then contacted his superior again & was again told to “stand down & watch the perimetre.” He disobeyed a direct order again and entered the home where he then said “He felt he was now in danger of his life” and then he kills the guy! W T F ?
Now they’re saying there will not be a review, because they (the RCMP) didn’t act on it in time, it was a clerical error because they didn’t start investigating in time, so now it will be against the law to investigate? What about being it against the law to simply kill someone alone in their own home? Where can one acquire bullet proof pyjamas & a flak helmet?
JESUS H CHRIST, the members of this police force are killing people all over the damn country & they are completely immune to anything being done to them, even when they break the rules or disobey orders! IMO its past time we change the name of these guys to Royal Canadian Murderous Police. This will at least give anyone from outside the country an idea of what they may be in for if they ever decide to pick up a stapler in an airport, or for the rest of us, if we are alone in our own homes and the cops feel like some shooting practice!
Your fair game. —More

more my ffriend, i thought you knew this was par for the course, as they say. there is a different deffinition of the law for the rich, the black, the native, and then the rest of us poor fucks. yes, i know it stinks, but til we have an across the board justice system, it will never change, ever.
yeah, this is kinda sick…
no quippy retorts for me here.
whomever slowed the investigation should be sacked.
Life Sucks & everyone else…I hate like hell to play the racism card but IMO this SCREAMS IT !
I personally am flabbergasted that this not only has happened, but nothing is being done to make sure it doesn’t happen again & this so called policeman, is now in another juristiction. Doing police work!
He’s a hazzard, & he’s basicly gotten away with 1)failure to follow the rules & policies of the RCMP.
2)He has disobeyed the orders of his superior officers.
3)He’s negligent by ignoring his superiors of causing a mans death by his direct actions & IMO has gotten away with manslaughter.
While our wonderful Politicians & Legal System don’t give a shit ! I realise that our society has to have police to keep those who feel preying on others is somehow their right. I know that if we didn’t have police we would have a society that would mirror a wild west movie.
But when a police officer blatently causes anothers death, there really needs to be a way to deal with it. THis moving him somewhere else , reminds me of what the church used to do with Priests who were under accusations of abuse. They’d just hide it & hope it went away, but the body count is rising & its way past time that these police offenders were dealt with by an outside agency. because all we the public are seeing is the good ole boy’s are taking care of their own !
More, I agree.
“& IMO has gotten away with manslaughter”
I completely agree. If I, a normal citizen, entered someone’s house through their window, and shot them, and claimed self defense, would I have the same statute of limitation of one year for the police to commence their investigation, before nothing could be done.
Sounds like a cover up to me.
I agree there should have been an inquiry and then let the chips fall wherever they may be. At any rate it would give the public a better understanding of the why, right or wrong, fpr or against the officer in question.
I am glad to see that I am not the only person outraged at this huge injustice done to this man and his loved ones. The RCMP should insist on an investigation to make an effort to maintain their own credibility. This smacks of cover up.
in this day and age of secracy, can we afford to have any more of this kind of shit going on? to that i say no fucking way.
Another disgracefull spit in the eye of Canadians by the increasingly disgraced RCMP. They do themselves no favours with this type of action – if Frenette WERE guilt-less, one would think he himself would be demanding to be cleared in an inquest.
Instead, the cloud of suspicion will follow him to his grave. What is it the MP love to say? – “Are we to believe this is the FIRST time you’ve done this sort of thing, just because you’ve now been caught?!”
What a shame. And the result is that more and more people on the “fringe” of society feel an increasing fear of this force….to the point that one day, I predict we will see someone get off on “self-defence” after shooting an RCMP member…because they genuinely feared for their life…
http://www.rcmpwatch.com/
so why doesnt somebody sneak into said officers house and “protect themselves” against HIM.
This mornings paper, says it all.
Native who shot & killed RCMP officer up North, was given 25 years before parole eligibility. So now we all know. You shoot them it’s a 25 year minimum. THey shoot you & they get a paid relocation & they’re back on the “job” waiting for their next chance to kill one of us !
Hooray! We kept the RCMP!
i noticed in the horrid this a.m. that they just conveniently waited a year and lo and behold it’s too late…sorry time’s up can’t touch me. bark, growl, ruff ruff, snarl, hiss
Google “Sagon Penn”.
Folks, hate to say it but there was an investigation done by HRP. I know I know. cover up. So who should be doing the investigation. And remember many cops across the nation have been charged and convicted of offences, including murder.
I know your right Bro Tim.
But even more get away with it.
The 4 guy’s who killed the Polish man stuck ina BC airport. THey may have only intended to “have a little fun” withtheir Taser unit, but multiple blast for no reason, no charges.
Let us all face the facts & they quite simply are…
THe odds are definately in their favor, & its time to bring it to a stop.
rodney king video. nuff said.
“”And remember many cops across the nation have been charged and convicted of offences, including murder.”‘
Murder? This is EXTREMELY rare…but please – what are your favorite three examples?
As far as “who” should investigate police complaints…um, a good start would be to use impartial civilians, private investigators, lawyers and judges not fellow cops…
Furthermore…for those isolated and head-in-the-sand people who still refuse to see just how deep corruption, violence and a culture of bullying runs in ALL police forces – I challenge you to watch THIS video of a peaceful free trade protester that was shot in the face with a riot gun, and the cops were caught on a secret filming cheering and laughing about it after…every fucking one of them, not just a “few bad apples”…They cheer and laugh and brag about it…
Was it a dreadlocked pot-smoking 20 year old “anarchist” they shot?
No, it was state prosecutor and attorney Elizabeth Ritter carrying a sign saying “fear totalinarianism” who was shot first in the back, and then in the face.

Watch these fucking cop bastards cheer and boast about it afterwards and tell me again that “most cops are good”…
Ok, most cops are good.
Police work is probably the least understood of all professions.
You want to know why the RCMP has incidents? Here’s why.
– The RCMP is a massive force, 20 000 members, and deals with thousands of people every day in very difficult circumstances.
– The people the RCMP deal with tend to be drunk, high on drugs, violent, and increasingly, lack complete respect, this creates volatile situations.
– Here’s the big one, to be politically correct, in the early 90s the RCMP dramatically shifted its recruiting. Gone were young, big, strong men. In were women, minorities and older people (40s and 50s). I’m not saying this is wrong, but logic tells us lowering the recruiting standards will lower their policing standards. The young, strong men that were still left lacked confidence in their partners, and consequently were prone to mistakes.
– Every RCMP detachment in this country is understaffed, therefore increasing the workload and stress load, increasing the likelihood of poor decisions in stressful situations. Don’t mistake a coffee break for having a lax workload.
This doesn’t justify this particular incident, but perhaps it places it within context to understand why it took place. As far as the investigation, yes, the RCMP protects its own, just the way it is. Nonetheless, this killing doesn’t share moral ground with the killings of Christopher Worden or Douglas Scott, for example. The RCMP have never entered my home.
“”- The people the RCMP deal with tend to be drunk, high on drugs, violent, and increasingly, lack complete respect, this creates volatile situations.””
Many are, but not most. Police forces deal with normal everyday citizens all day long. The problem comes when police start to just assume that everyone they meet DOES fall into that catagory…the “jaded cop” syndrome. This is aggravated when police close ranks in their socia lives too – only hanging out with other cops…soon many start to develop a feeling of “us vs them”…
“”Every RCMP detachment in this country is understaffed””
That may be true.
“”Nonetheless, this killing doesn’t share moral ground with the killings of Christopher Worden or Douglas Scott, for example””
Says who? You?
“”Here’s the big one, to be politically correct, in the early 90s the RCMP dramatically shifted its recruiting. Gone were young, big, strong men. This isn’t done to be “politically correct” Yorke, it’s done in an effort to have our national police force reflect the wide spectrum and make-up of our nation. Having asian-heritage officers, for instance, has done much to improve relations with immigrant-heavy pockets of our cities. To be honest, this sounds like bigoted, agist and sexist nonsense here, sorry.
It isn’t “lowering recruiting standards” to introduce diversity in a force, as you say, of 20,000! And half of Canadians are women, why should they be on the force in a similar ratio?
In fact, there’s a chance that a gentle impassioned plea through a bull-horn from say, an older female RCMP officer may have been a better solution than having this idiot Frenette crawl through a fucking window in the dark like some horror movie zombie to get the jump on his victim..wtf was THAT about?
This idea that every RCMP member needs to be the big man on campus is totally bullshit, and part of the problem, IMO.
What happens when you point a gun at a Mounty?
You think I am sexist and ageist? Watch COPS, or Drunk and Disorderly, or Police Women of Broward County, watch when the suspect fights, see what the female officers and the old man officers do, it speaks for itself.
Buddy is dead, no changing that – Wife is suing US – once big payout received healing circle will be complete.

I watched the video and I cheered as well. How stupid are you to hide behind a piece of paper. My only beef was that it was rubber and not real but thems the breaks…
The RCMP officer did right in my books. If you go around waving a gun at an officer, expect him to defend himself.
Sebastian – I hope the RCMP guy broke out that old Queen classic “and another one bites the dust”
Sebastion, this man was not going around “WAVING A GUN AT A COP”
This man was in his own home.
He was all alone.
He hadn’t commited any crime.
A family member who was worried about the possibility of him hurting himself, called the police to come & help.
They came & one officer decided to, on his own, see if he could be a hero & possibly move himself closer to a promotion by being said hero.
He then put himself in danger by entering a home ,for no other reason except “hero syndrome”
He now is inside a distressed (possibly) persons home, & again only his word to go on, saw the man with a gun, the subject had not fired a gun, had not committed a crime but this cop who had entered a private residence.
THen kills him.
You and Gimpy,Basil think this is right ?!
I would absolutely love for this same senario to play out with one of you, or someone you love being the person alone in their own home. That a cop illegally enters & then kills you or your family member.
I am quite certain you’d be singing a different tune then.
*SHRUG*
I get hassled by the police all my life before, I get pulled over because I’m guilty of DWB. I could give two shits over the hassles other have over police. Besides, who has a home without security bars anyway? He was asking to get shot.
“”I watched the video and I cheered as well. How stupid are you to hide behind a piece of paper.”‘
How stupid are we to assume we won’t be shot in the face by “riot police”…especially when there is no riot.
“”My only beef was that it was rubber and not real but thems the breaks…””
Although I’m sure your childish comment was an effort to be provocative (you’re not), I will be cheering equally as hard when this attorney collects on the $25,000,000 law suit, and the “officer” is not only fired in disgrace, but held criminally responsible.
“”If you go around waving a gun at an officer, expect him to defend himself.”‘
While it’s true that EVERY cop that kills claims “self defence”, we are starting to finally see some prosecutions…although very rare. Again, rogue cops do themselves or their brethren no favours when they circle the wagons and defend rogue actions, right or wrong.
In fact, abuse by cops has become so pervasive that it is now possible for a citizen to claim “self defence” as well.
If you sneak into my house through a window unannounced, don’t be surprised if I too choose to defend myself.
Civil disobedience is still disobedience.
What they should have done was sick the dogs on her and then she will see what it’s like to be a real protestor. She ‘tried’ to use her position to bring in press and other crap that normal people won’t have access to.
As far as I am concerned she was a terrorist that dressed as she did to promote herself as a myrtar. The police should have facilitated her wish.
