As a police officer, many have had to enforce laws they didn’t totally want to enforce, but they do it because it’s the law and it’s what they’re paid to do. Not in the HRM though! I just had a chat with one of the 3 NON-patrolling officers that were shooting the breeze and getting their pictures taken down at the Buskers (rather than, you know, patrolling the area). Well, she informed me that the HRM cops do indeed enforce bylaws… but only if they FEEL they should be enforced. Really Ms.Police Officer? I didn’t know you were a judge too! wow! Halifax cops have more power than any other cops, I guess. —Sick of Lazy Cops in HRM

Have you ever heard of bylaw enforcement? Police aren’t babysitters, they are there to keep the peace not write tickets to people who leave their garbage cans out too long or some other stupid infraction. If something bothers you that much, talk to the management of the business that has offended you.
Now you’re absolutely, postively certain she wasn’t just winding you up, right?
On Saturday night around 9:00 I saw a couple of cruisers and a paddy wagon heading to the waterfront. Did a mime get swarmed, cuz that would be worth a shiny new dime from moi.
By the way, how’s the drunk chick who fell of the wharf and landed crumbled on the boat mooring? Silly bitch doesn’t know how to walk straight.
My feelings for the police have been well documented on here but even I think this is a lame bitch.
As much as it sucks it will always be at their discretion, no matter what the law says.
another hard to believe bitch. In this case, am I to believe that the OB was stupid enough to roll up on the officer and start questioning them about why they aren’t enforcing the law? I think not.
If he was that stupid, the bitch would have details about tickets and or an arrest.
It never fails to amaze me how people think we should live in more of a police state than we already do.
