All right. I am pissed. I just found out that a certain food concession tenancy has been terminated – because the mall wants to move a coffee chain into their spot. A coffee chain doesn’t sell an all day breakfast of scrambled eggs, great home fries and bacon. It doesn’t sell hot turkey sandwiches. It doesn’t sell beef tips or pork chops or lasagna. No one in the food court sells that old-fashioned home-style greasy spoon cooking. Damn it, this place filled a niche. That coffee chain is doing fine right where it’s at. I always see a line-up there. And even if it needs to be in the food court there are several empty spots where they find could find a home. This place has been a mainstay in that food court for as long as I can remember. What kind of loyalty does this demonstrate when your landlord – gives you such a casual “outta here”? —A Craver of Cholesterol

  1. Is it possible they are raising up the rent and the owner decided they didn’t want to pay the increase, they may have just said thanks but no thanks to a another location in the food court

  2. They’re actually petioning to try and either a) stay where they are or b) relocate to a different spot. Hopefully reason will prevail in this situation.

  3. ‘Twas great fun. Supposedly the costume contest was better than that of Montreal ComicCon.

  4. SS isn’t a charity… guess one player offered more? Maybe dude(ette) didn’t feel like paying $40 million in rent?

  5. There is a petition going to keep this place in SS. Drop by said restaurant and grab a form. Fill it out and drop it off in Duke tower as per instructions, or just call and complain. The landlord company is doing this to SEVERAL stores in this mall, as you may have already noticed as other spots have gone out of business.
