I can’t help but notice all the publicity that “The Dark Knight” is getting because of Heath Ledger. Hands down he is a great actor and his death was tragic but I cant help but wonder if there would be this much Oscar buzz and publicity if he hadn’t died. It seems like celebrities get even more famous after they die.

It’s been like that since James Dean back in ’55 – nothing new here. What gets me is that the most popular dead celebrities, like Elvis, still make more than any of us would in a fucking lifetime. Ah, immortality.
Interesting also the sheer volume of movies released shortly before and after his death. Everyone loves a tragedy….
