Well I’m driving home the other night & I hear on the radio, that the Halifax Police have reviewed the Facebook posts of those guy’s who were involved in those misogynistic posts.
Seems there will be no criminal investigation opened. That what was said/written wasn’t a crime. Which I believe is exactly what I said right from the beginning.
Now hopefully the school will be allowed to use their policies & their procedures to deal with , what I most certainly do believe was a nasty juvenile irresponsible display , by several persons with in the group. No one should be subjected publicly or in a place of learning to that type of behaviour in my opinion.
Which is probably why schools have policy’s on that in the first place. I never believed it should have been a criminal offence & I still believe they have a right to say it, even though I feel what they said was wrong.
Bash away guys, after all it seems to me those of you with the lynch mob mentality ….only seem to think what you agree with should be allowed to be freely spoken. God is dead I don’t care who that comment pisses off ~;p —More
This article appears in Jan 15-21, 2015.

Well said-I can’t agree more!!!
Just one correction: No one was publicly subjected to those comments. This was a closed group. No one but the members of the group could see the posts. It wasn’t until one of the members of the group shared the post with a female classmate that this became public.
And ladies, if you think that your Father, Grandfather, son or brother have never made comments about women which could be considered offensive, then you are living a deluded life.
I said the same thing OB. What they said doesnt fall within the criminal code of canada. They do fall within Sexual harassment section of the Human rights act, which has a Canada wide policy that ALL organizations/institutions/businesses in canada require internal policies to deal with such a thing at the LOWEST level possible, respecting the privacy and integrity of the parties until such time as a resolution is achieved. This includes the use of restorative justice, education etc. seems like Dalhouse University has done it right…contrary to the vapid screaming mysandrist protesters.
I don’t think anyone, including the protesters, thought these were criminal acts. Give yourself a pat on the back though, you’re right, just like everyone else who gave this a second thought.
God isn’t dead, it DNE.
Agreed. I don’t believe they made the comments with the intent to act. It was exactly what you said it was: Nasty, juvenile and irresponsible. There have been rapists and pedophiles who have received less backlash than these 13 students. Society for ya.
Yeah but people and the media love to make a mountain out of a molehill. And Frogg, if people don’t think women make similar remarks about men, then they are living in a fantasy world. Both sexes talk shit about the other. It is called Human Nature.
WHAT IS A CRIME?
“Seems there will be no criminal investigation opened. That what was said/written wasn’t a crime.” More
“crime, n., Act (usu. grave offence) punishable by law; evil act; sin.” (Concise Oxford Dictionary)
As is usually the case in controversial issues such as this the philosophical pre-suppositions must be engaged. So what are the philosophical presuppositions surrounding the case of the Dal 13? Why wasn’t what was said/written considered to be a crime? How did it fail to satisfy the criteria of what is or is not a crime?
The first definition, an act punishable by law, is simply circular. An act which is punishable by law is, by definition, a crime. That is what it MEANS to be a crime. hat is why dictionary definitions are usually empty. But what was said/written an “evil act?” Well, that depends on what you mean by “evil.” A basic definition would appear to intend damage the victim(s) in some respect, whether physically, financially or in terms of being held up to ridicule. It seems to me that in this respect what was said/written was indeed a crime and that those who perpetrated the crime should themselves be held accountable in the same way, i.e., physically, financially or in terms of being held up to ridicule. Just how this is to be done is a further question. We just wanted to “get clearer,” as they say in analytical philosophy, as to what constitutes a crime.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.
A pleasure as always.
Cheerio!
Today: one of the posts “…a picture of a female patient from the university’s dental clinic…”
End of story. Out.
“Which I believe is exactly what I said right from the beginning.”
Whatchu want, a cookie?!
Hmmm, I can’t give this bitch a “like”.
Lolz – More is an “Internet Tough Guy” says Mod Pot
This “I told you so ” bitch = rape.
I don’t eat cookies… date squares are ok though.
Take a step back, i know several of the protesters, most are no longer my friends after trying to explain to them why they arent being charged criminally…meanwhile they were trespassing on the campus(not students) and were protesting while wearing masks on their faces to hide. On almost every forum ive seen there are people screaming for charges to be brought. Accusations from the protesters that the guys by virtue of their posts on fb ARE rapists, or will become one(very time cop like…wheres Jean claude van damme when you need him?) so yeah. there are plenty out there, including some posters in other bitches that insist that there was a crime committed. They should turn in their internet law degree though.
Never one to choose sides, I will yet state that the present law was trying to hush a sea of bloodthirsty and vindictive misandrists, nowadays swelling to the proportions of a menacing army( in case you haven’t noticed!- the collective female consciousness is brimming with the pain of thousands of years of cruelty and torture and ‘hell hath no fury’ right?).
The ensuing circus surrounding these precarious poor young hooligans resembled ever so slightly medieval England in all its monstrously wretched spite and hostility. I imagine these young men were looking over their shoulders for packs of angry young women and awaiting the hammer of Hades to come crashing down. Better a slip on the pavement than a slip of the tongue it would seem….
This goes further than this little spectacle though…. the increasingly wretched and disgruntled modern masses will soon be making war with their own shadows as the collective human tension and negativity detonates into infernal pandemonium….
The history of humanity has been no more than a history of madness, failure, hypocrisy and carnage and this is just another scrap on the junk heap and another crooked picture on the Human Wall of Shame…. let’s see what next….
Damn that Nurse Hezz is finer than a muthafucka.
