Your site sucks the balls off of a dead hooker. I can never find the listings I want,it takes three years for anything to load…Seriously, are you guys in a 1995 dial-up time warp. What the Fuck? For example, where the fuck are the listings for Hells kitchen this week? Iron Giant?? I had to look everywhere just to find it. You put enough bullshit on your site about hippie indie shit rock bands that wouldn’t know how to write a good rock song if they were getting lessons from Led Zeppelin. And enough of the shit reviews. Review some good local music and art…not this shit that makes me want to slice my wrist because these hapless singer/songwriter shits spend too much time smoking dope and drinking red wine to actually try to entertain people. I like alot of stuff but somehow you guys manage to focus on all the stinky, crusty, folk indie shit and you SING ITS PRAISES??? No more dirty hippies!!! Is an artist only good enough if they can drone on, off key about nintendos and rejection in all aspects of their miserable lives. Who wants to sit and listen to some indie dude who’s failed at life and only bathes once a month, where’s the entertainment…Unless thats the entertainment. Watching them is a warning of how low the human can let himself sink, is that it? Besides, its just children’s music in disguise. You should put Fred Penner on the front page next time he releases an album. Do a big review, call him a genius. “Oh he’s so poetic, he really understands the human condition.”
One more thing. REVIEW LOCAL BANDS YOU ARE THE LOCAL WEEKLY…L-O-C-A-L. I don’t care if you don’t want to give a bad review or if you don’t like it, review it. Its local, its your job. I’m in two local bands and we both sent in cd’s (they weren’t boring whiny indie pop though) and your bull shit response was, “We don’t like to give bad reviews” or “there are lots of cds released everyday and we can only pick so many”. Well, let Exclaim or say Rolling Stone handle the national stuff and the international stuff. You guys review the…LOCAL! There should be a rock review section a metal section a punk section a country fuckin’ music section as long as your covering local bands and letting everyone know about every style of music film art etc. that this city offers. Don’t just list it review it. If its not your thing give it to someone who likes that style and let them review it. Why don’t you have a public reviews page. Let the community decide. You folks seem to have your head so far up Indie’s ass the smell is sticking to the paper.
All that being said you do cover local politics/events/etc. pretty well. Don’t drop the music ball.

I can’t speak to the arts side of things (not my department), but we are indeed about to release a new version of the web site. It’s been under design for some months now, and should be up and running, well, soon. It should work much better, and we’ll be adding all sorts of surprises.

my expectations arent that high…. there is many decent articles written in here.However, the jokes that are printed that have to do with city hall, arent reportings, they are the comments and interpretations of Tim’s opinion. He is the editor too. Gee, conflict of interest?Tough to show the other side of the coin for people make their own choices, when the publication for the people, has a guy that reports what he wants.
I too have to agree with some of the OP’s bitch…I have been to Gus’s Pub and watched a FANTASTIC band call Freudian Slip and had never heard of them mentioned in the Coast…my nephew runs a venue at the Frigate and I never see reviews about this venue or even that it exsisted….MORE LOCAL STUFF of different genres would be FANTASTIC!!
